It looks like we're in the bottom third, of the bottom third, of the bottom third, of the spending table... please log in to view this image https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spo...ews/championship-agent-fees-hull-city-6888955
Who in the right mind would sort that table alphabetically? What's the ****ing point of Excel? I despair, I really do. And while I'm on one - people who write firstname, surname into one cell.* So the only sort you can do is alphabetically by firstname. Which is no ****ing use to anyone. There is no punishment which is adequate, there really ****ing isn't. * I know that you can easily separate into two cells but that really isn't the point, is it? ****ing spreadsheet ****s.
They have a place in the game for sure but it’s well out of hand and needs keeping in check. They’re as bad as boxing promoters. Think of all the money they’re sucking out the game that could far better go towards grassroots development or even just the clubs themselves. They are probably some of the best paid people in the sport. And also ripe for corruption in many ways as we discovered under the Bartlett regime.
Sorry but this is complete garbage. There's a few bad apples but it's certainly not well out of hand. Most clubs spending less than 10% of their wage bill which is hardly extortionate Grassroots development should be sorted, the PL TV deal is worth over £1bn a year and if they could be bothered it could easily be double.
Agents shouldn't be getting a penny from clubs. Agents should solely work for a player and take a percentage of their wage as agreed by the player and agent when they sign a contract together. Absolute parasites
You do know that clubs employ their own agents right? If they were as bad as you're making out then football as a whole would have come up with another solution.
Yeah but isn't that part of the problem though? The fact clubs are employing agents, and paying extortionate fees for their services. Plus then paying an agent fee to the player their buying? Clubs are being ****ed at both ends for a basically snake oil? On the face of it an agent is a great idea. It stops what used to happen like Brian clough refusing to leave a players house until they've signed. It stops young players being tied down to long contracts on ****ty wages when they're worth so much more. In the beggining they were basically like an old school union sticking up for players and making sure they didn't get screwed. They rightly took their percentage and it was all good. But like everything else in the modern game money ****ed it. Look at the super agents like mino raiola and George mendez. You think they give a **** where their clients go? It's about who is willing to pay the biggest fee to them and them persuading their clients to go to the club. It's all smoke and mirrors. I don't doubt there are good agents out there but even then, the amount of money they get for the work put in is obscene.
