The more you think about it the more it makes sense to get this guy. Kaka would be the perfect signing for Arsenal. It's easy to look at him and say he's 29 and injury plagued and not good anymore. That simply isn't true. Last season he scored 7 goals in 14 league games. And it's not like he started all those games either. That's a starting striker's ratio. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F2oW2m3CHw Last season only. He is a different type of playmaker to Cesc. Cesc is a Barcelona style player, funnily enough, with a bit of Arsenal in him that makes him so effective at creating chances. What Kaka can do is beat his marker, opening up counter-attack like space in front of him, before making the pass. Kaka is just that bit more direct which, as shown already, is the direction Arsenal are taking. It's a huge benefit to Ramsey and Wilshere. Giant. Here is a Ballon d'Or winner for them to learn from. Ramsey needs a bit of that I feel and Wilshere would benefit also. It would also benefit these two because they won't burn out. Kaka would command a starting place and you could choose to rotate Ramsey and Wilshere or something. They're young players. You don't want them to burn out at 24 due to playing 50 game seasons in their early twenties. It wouldn't push the youngsters out of the team. If I was Wilshere/Ramsey and saw my place given to Kaka I would think "well, he's going to be around for a few years and then I'll take over". I wouldn't want to leave. Any amount of money we spend on him will be recouped through shirt sales. When Ronaldo went to Real Madrid they recouped £80m. That's a club used to signing the world's best players regularly. Imagine here, at Arsenal, where we are all so desperate for something to smile about. I'd probably buy his shirt. It will lift the team off the pitch also. Really lift them. Would Hazard want to come to Arsenal more if he saw us sign Kaka? Probably. Not to mention the Bergkamp effect. You know, the day he walked into the club everybody upped their game. A media coup. I can think of nothing better than seeing Wenger and Kaka holding an Arsenal shirt with "Kaka" on the back of it. Spend up to £30m on this guy. And forget the wages, he's worth it as a player, let alone everything else.
Kaka would be a good signing but £30 Mill is way to much. Try as i may i can't see Wenger paying more than £15 Mill for a 29 yr old, it depends how much his club want to get rid of him. the shirt sales would be a bonus tho'.
I think that paying £30m wouldn't be a £30m loss. With the income from shirt sales etc that number would diminish considerably.
I've been saying it for ages - Kaka is the dream signing for Arsenal! Absolutely quality player. I recon we could get him cheaper than £30 million, but it'd be the wages which is the tough point to negotiate.
Well say we get him for £20m, but we were willing to spend £30m for him. We'd have only have got him for £30m if his wage demands matched our structure. Wouldn't that £10m extra go towards his wages and make everyone happy?
I don't see why we couldn't spend 20-30 million on two different players giving us a spend of around £50 million. That still falls comfortably within what we can afford. Kaka and Hazard please.
We can def afford it but the penny pinchers won't pay it. Expect if we are lucky some more unknown French league players either on loan or on free transfers, that's our past form anyway. Maybe Pascal Cygan might be up for covering!
We will get in at least one more player, maybe more. Whether they will be unknowns, youth or household names who knows.
Kaka's far too much of an obvious player for Wenger. He doesn't do the whole buy a proven top class player thing, although he would be a very good signing.
Who the fruck is gonna pay that amount for him now? Kaka would be a quality signing for Arsenal, i reckon he would wreck the EPL. Not just him as a marquee attacking signing, but also Hazard and quality defenders and CF, but a shame this will never happen
