Hope you had a good time M8, never a big speedway fan TBH, but used to keep an eye out for Newport's results. My Dad fitted central heating in Ivan Mauger's house though <ok>

On a serious point, things like this, big egg chasing internationals and finals, big RL games, Test matches and massive music events, and 99% of the visiting fans speaking well of the City and the facilities, add this to the fact that the well respected National Geographic magazine named Cardiff as one of the top ten places in the world to visit, and with a good write up in the Lonely Planet Guide............it all raises the profile of the City and confirms it's status as a major sporting venue, which can only help in attracting investment and players to CCFC <ok>

I well remember my first Newport visit, couldn't work out why all the crowd were putting the program in front of their faces as the bikes came past, soon found out lol, I think I missed the next 2 races getting grit removed from my eyes

Remember Ivan Mauger but not really too much about the speedway scene. Just don't get it to be honest and I'm a biker!!

There used to be speedway up "The Mile Road" in Cardiff

Not even I can remember that though ;)

I remember my Dad reminiscing about a Friday night at the speedway though...............he wasn't a huge fan, but apparently you could get Westler's hamburgers and it was a good place to pull <ok>

I had a similar experince Sussex. Went to Newpor as a kid with my Dad. A bit crowded on the straights so we set up camp at the exit of one of the bends. Just before the racing a kind gentleman wandered over and pointed out the error of our ways. Still watch it on Sky when there's nothing better to do.
