? Ok well. Keane is absolutely pathetic, Not only dd he cost us a goal, but all he did was attempt to fend off a player from his own arse. Chris wood was pathetic too, he hardly ran or even tried to score..... Our free kicks were terrible. In the end we can make excuses, but this game came down to a missed penalty. Wen i saw knockaert taking it i too was scared. Im sure we all prefered nuget, king. or the milk man. To summarise, keane is crap.
I'd be surprised if we go for Keane or Kane over the summer. Keane has potential but he's not ready yet - he looked out of his depth today. You have to question the futures of St Ledger and Whitbread if Keane is getting picked ahead of them. Wood played the holding role well today but he hasn't looked as mobile since that injury he had back in Feb. Hopefully he can get himself right over the summer. I think a striker and a CB have to be our targets over the summer. And maybe a LB. And possibly another wide player because we can't keep relying on Dyer.
Keeping your squad together and being able to reject PL approaches (not from us!) for the likes of Schmichael, Wood, Knockheart etc will be key to your chances of automatic next year
... you're right - they had many players on song today against our few. Take my hat off to Nuge - I'm not his biggest fan but he played very well today. Also thought Andy King had a great game making a fabulous last ditch tackle in the second half. Wes did very well against real handfuls in Deeney and Vydra. Schlupp, De Laet and James also played well. The penalty aside, Knocky was not at his best - he needs to improve his ball retention massively if he is to play in the Prem.
Thought knocky played well on the whole and i dont see what Keane did wrong really. Kane is utterly dreadful, ill admit to that Horrible, horrible way to go out.
Why all the backlash against Keane and Wood? Sure they both have been a bit crap but they are only 20 odd years old each. How were any goals just Keane's fault as well? Will agree about Kane though.
I agree with you about both Keane and Wood - if you look back at it, Kaspar lost it for the late goal - I think he'd been a bit unnerved already - Vydra gave him no chance with either of his and Deeney had also put one through his legs that got disallowed - he had no need to come out so far late on but he had a bit of a rush of blood. Not blaming him for the result 'tho - without the saves he made over the two legs we'd have been well out of it by then.
