Saw this on a Bakerloo Line train today. What's it all about then? Anyone know? please log in to view this image
The less literal but more accurate translation seems to be Let us be judged by our acts. Wikipedia says this is the motto of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham (and previously by the old Borough of Hammersmith) and of course that old QPR badge is simply the Hammersmith crest. But what's the J.V.C. bit about? Am I missing something?
That is my schoolbadge and motto.... Kingsbury County Grammar School....was it on Bakerloo nearly Kingsbury .....
Okay... May be not .... The badge was different...on not the hammHammersmith badge.. but feel it is related... Will do more research..
I assumed it was a transfer rumour. Agendo, probably a striker that doesn't score much or an aging centre half!
I'm 99.3% sure that Spectemur Agendo is what Harry Potter said when he turned Ron into a weasel. Sadly, he had to turn Hermione into breadsticks just to feed the poor creature (using the Spectacular Grissini incantation) but at least he had Bobby the house Zamora for company.
Very strange! The basic design of the crest was taken from the Hammersmith crest. Various schools and groups from around that part of london had/have similar crests to represent them. They often have a river going across the shield, though. Maybe the green part does somehow represent the river. But this occurrence is very strange. I've got a feeling you might get an answer on one of the other QPR forums where more old boys or studious QPR fans reside.
