In the perspective of Liverpool and Napoli matches... Seems to me Swansea are becoming increasingly more naïve in the approach to the game. Defensively more uncoordinated (fx offside traps not working) and unfocused (as seen tonight before the 1st Napoli goal)...
Better than gutless and lacklustre defeats. We have just pushed a super power of European football to the wire
What, you mean we actually made these teams work hard and almost got a result instead of being beaten comfortably?
took a bit longer than i thought for Mikra to turn up and gloat. Really don't see the point of you continuing to come on here and bad-mouth Swansea City. We were around for a long time before your 'support' and we'll be around for a long time after.
tongue still firmly welded to laudrups arse i see mikra. ignore him lads, gave a good account of yourselves v liverpool, didnt see this match but no shame in losing to napoli........
What you don't seem to grasp is the situation laudrup had left us in, We cant afford to play our strongest side in any cup games otherwise we would be right in it if we lose key players because they were playing too much high profile football, and risks would be higher for possible injuries....We don't have the luxury of being safe like spurs where they can field their strongest side, we have to keep players as fresh as possible for the more important games in the premiership...Its a shame as we could have beaten napoli tonight with a full side...
please log in to view this image Spot on Dai, exactly how I see it, we can now concentrate on the PL!..............
You couldn't be further from the truth, your bias is affecting your objectivity, it's clear to all neutrals that Swansea is back to playing it's best football, that was clearly seen in the 1st Napoli game, and at Anfield, no good crying over spilt milk Mickra, what's done is done, Laudrup I'm sure will get another club that is better suited to his way of doing things, and we will get back to doing what got us here in the PL in the first place, and Garry Monk has had an admirable start, and I can only wish him well!............................ PS: We are all eagerly looking forward to seeing how Sir Michael gets on at his new club!............
As long as we stay in the prem then there will be more big cup games to come. And those clubs that are usually in them will take notice and remember what we did this time around.
Actually it was a thread of pragmatic people attempting to cogently discuss reality, assessing the decisions made be the executives, their conduct and their ramifications. Instead of blindly getting drunk on the coolaid. We have now, per others on other threads ... returned to "entertaining football" ... however, we have also apparently returned to shipping goals and losing ... in much the same way it happened when Captain Monk was on the field as a regular - although I admit that correlation does not equal or indicate causation. So entertaining, but shipping goals and losing ..... such a quandary. Personally, I prefer being challenged, tactically well organized, and competitive in the Prem watching the likes of United, City, Arsenal etc and perhaps being less "entertaining" ... to being entertaining and settling on watching the likes of Doncaster, Millwall or whoever the hell is in the Championship these days. But then I wouldn't be watching those lower level teams, and neither would any of the other ex pats, because foreign football media are not particularly enthusiastic about the "entertainment" offered under the guise of say Swansea v Huddersfield, and so don't present those matches.
Well I'd rather lose 4-3 at Anfield against Liverpool in the manner we did Sunday than the manner we were humiliated there last season 5-1.
Chin up Yankee! We will be playing entertaining footy in the PL next season, I'll put money on it!......................
No doubt Swansea will be playing the premiership NeXT season. What ever you may think of me as biased towards, WHO knows. I'm not discarding the entertainment value of the style Swansea plays. And Swansea will grab their wins, when playing teams that can't take advantage of the obvious defensive weaknesses that Monks managing style includes. You'll see: soon enough Swanseas dead-ball problem will reoccur. I'm not trying to get Laudrup reemployed, nor am I trying to slate Swansea, I'm not so easily bought or sold. I saw the game tonight and against Liverpool (and the 5-1 defeat too). I was hoping for a debate, but apparently you're all too dissappointed, drunk or selfsufficient that you're not willing to see my point. BTW save your Cardiff-fan rhetorics for them. I'm not your enemy, and I won't start defending myself here. If I'm not welcome here, I'll piss off soon enough...
Hear hear.. Laudrups sacking is the best thing that could ever have happened to the club regardless whether we stay up or go down...
