Sky Sports understands Bolton are one of five clubs chasing Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing. Bolton boss Owen Coyle has previously expressed his interest in Spearing as he looks to bolster his midfield options at the Reebok Stadium. Spearing has found himself pushed down the pecking order at Anfield this season following the arrivals of Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin this summer. The 23-year-old was not included in Liverpool's 18-man squad for last weekend's game with Manchester City and was also not involved for the opening day defeat by West Brom. Spearing, who came through the ranks at Anfield, is considering his options whether to stay and fight for his place or leave in search for regular first-team football whether on loan or a permanent basis. Premier League trio Queens Park Rangers, Aston Villa and Southampton as well as Wolves are all thought to be keeping tabs on Spearing's situation. Bolton are thought to be leading the race for Spearing with the midfield dynamo expected to make a decision on his long-term future before the close of the transfer window on Friday.
just seems that our name gets thrown in with every player looking to move. but i did read that we was looking at Granero of Madrid again hope there is something in this.
I think we need a workhorse in midfield some one to breakup the play and move the ball onto the flair players... Maybe Spearing could do this for us?
i agree i tell who would be perfect Essien of chelsea as i can't see him playing again for them with the players their have signed.
I can't believe chelsea stick with Mikel. Essien was world class but seem he has become another hargreaves...
No thanks!! I do believe we need another CM though unfortuantely so we can push Park out wide and provide competition for Ali and Diakate.
