It was Collingdon Road at the time I think it was Browning, Jones and Morris in Dumballs Road. But you were in the right neck of the woods.

You could get anything pipework related at that place.Pre the current blue polypropylene underground water service pipework, it was all black alkathene and getting the right conversion fittings between each and onto copper was a nightmare. Browning, Jones and Morris always seemd to have exactly what you wanted on the shelf.

Yep, BJM had a fantastic reputation for customer service and stocking specialist fittings. Of course, they weren't scared of charging for their service. But fair play to them, that was their business model and they didn't get into the cut throat tendering that went on back thenIt was Browning, Jones and Morris - thank you clingo.

I'm not sure if they're still around. Keith Browning must be long gone by now so I guess it would be a question as to whether the Morris sons took it on. I did read somewhere that they had relocated to Ipswich Road by I don't know for certain. They also had a branch in North London (Cricklewood I think) but again, I'm not sure that's still going
Just checked on that clingo - yep, still going. At least they filed accounts in September last year and the registered office is in Ipwsich Road.
Founded in 1924, there's still a Morris and a Browning on the board - John Morris is 83.

I knew John when I was working for S&F. He wasn't particularly interested in the business then despite his mum's wishes.
