Bizarre incident all round really with Roy telling a pretty poor joke which appears not to have gone down all that well with at-least one person- the source of the leak. I've read a variety of articles which almost cover the spectrum of opinion - from it being an assault on common sense from the PC brigade to arguments that Roy, thinking of space and believing Andros to look like a Monkey, was reminded of a joke with tenuous links to the general point he was actually making and in the heat of the moment didn't have time to apply a 'racism' check and was actually being racist sub-consciously. Personally I think Roy got a bit caught up in the moment and probably spoke off-the-cuff and chose a poor analogy. I didn't really get the joke that quickly so I wonder if there are players in that dressing room still wondering what the hell he was talking about. It's unfair to speculate (but I'm going to anyway) on who made the leak - maybe Mr Defoe - - he's been the victim of racist abuse in the past and has been referred to in the same terms Andros mistakenly was (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...main-Defoe-alleged-targets-monkey-chants.html) and isn't looking like a starter, or even a late sub for the team at the moment. Or, and this is where I would put my money, old 'Arry caught wind of it, probably through Defoe who he's got a relationship with and has probably been telling that he would be a starter if he'd got the nod for the job, and with egg still dripping down his face decided to put a call into a mate at the sun. Only thing that might undermine my hypothesis is his ongoing love in with the Daily Mail which his son Jamie is now getting in on. If he did leak it maybe it was to keep them sweet whilst he's shacked up with the Mail. All probably rubbish - the question I was going to ask is whether the person, if identified and if a player, could be justifiably excluded from the squad for breaking the sanctity of the dressing room?

An alternative rumour is that Wellbeck was the leak. That he told his agent who told Rio Ferdinand's agent and well we know there's no love lost there betweem the player and Roy. As you say Ireland, a lot of puff and wind. And to answer your question silky, no I don't think the person should be excluded if it was a player. However, I do believe they should own up to the group, not the world at large, then let them all agree that what "goes on in the dressing room, stays in the dressing room". And move on.
