I live a stones throw from Roots Hall (home of the Shrimpers!) and a couple of my pals work at stewards at the ground. One of them confirmed that Newcastle's last friendly which tba shortly will be the 26/07/2016 agaist Southend United away! Will be a Tuesday night. Litterally watched endless FA Cup/Carling Cup draws waiting for this fixture to happen! Hopefully the club announce it soon, I will be buzzin!
Nile Ranger has just Signed for Southend too!!! I'm praying my mates right about this friendly, would be absolutely immense!!!
Might be more reserves playing as it's sandwiched between the Vitesse Arnhem and Sporting Lokeren games? Doubt I'll go to any pre-season games. Maybe the Arnhem one if the price is reasonable and it doesn't clash with anything planned.
I'm heading to Doncaster and I have somehow been convinced to drive to Lokeren for that game [tickets depending.] I must be ****ing mad. Southend? I'd go if I could get time off work. Arnhem no chance. Bohemians - too bloody expensive to get to Dublin!
Home Tickets go on sale at 12 at the southend box office, Im working from home so I can nip out round the cornerand go get them before they sell out. I will then try and get tickets in the away area and if im successful ill quite easily flog the home tickets!
There is going to be a canny following down there. Apparently the away tickets go on sale today as well. I like how since last pre-season they have started dishing out loyalty points for away pre-season games. Edging me closer to the holy grail - an away ticket at the SOS when we eventually go back up. I want to know when [if] the Lokeren tickets go on sale or whether I am going to have to buy them in Belgium.
Judging from what the Box Office said about the away pre-season games - Very unlikely to go on sale to members.
Southend Tickets bought, row A, Home End. Right next to Rafa's doug out. I know the hotel where they will be staying so I might reserve seats at the restraunt for the night before hoping ill bump into Mitro! try and convince him to have a night out on the town! #Mitrosparty!
I was in Leyton in 2009 and was a stone's throw away from their ground and went to that infamous pre-season game....lol. Can't make it due to being on holiday, but should be interesting, hopefully they'll use these friendlies to give the fringe players a work out.
I hope they play a fairly strong side. I wouldnt hear the end of it from all my southend supporting mates!
