I've just read on the beeb site that Southend have been issued with another winding up order due to be heard in June. 6th one in 4 years apparently. Not looking good for them is it.

If I may say so, it emphasises what a good job Sturrock did there in very difficult circumstances.

Why he didn't do it for us in his second stint is a puzzle.

Bit harsh there joe. He didn't find the nugets though that's for sure. In a bizaar sort of way he probably had access to too much money and operates much better on a small amount. In the end Southend dropped a bit like a stone compared to the first half of the season so maybe that was as much to do with an empty till as him. The thing about the Southend affair is that you can only avoid the obvious for so long but eventually it will catch up with you and 6 times is pushing the boundaries a tad. The closed season is probably the worst time for these clubs with little or no revenue coming in at all so you have to wonder if they will not hit Admin before kick off.

Hi sensible, well that was my view on Mr Sturrocks second innings at Pafc!! Yep he did do quite well with southend and he got them to the Cup final in the paint trophy!! So they might have had a few quid from that..But they keep getting into the same mess time after time.. I think this will be their last time and go into admin soon.. so they will start next season if they get that far with -10?

Not long to go until the new season !!! hope all is well with you and the family.. bit quiet now on here..

I think the ladies are bringing the ironing up to date in the closed season joe. Old BC is too busy chasing bears and mexijan is p***ed most of the time. It's only plym you and me left to have sensible debate........

All is well as I hope it is with you and yours.

Me too ;) ..... haven't had time to post anything constructive as I am in the process of folding a grass roots footy club due to the dinosaurs at the FA not sticking to their own rules and regulations, but thats another story .... roll on the start of the new season ... its only another 71 days 6 hours 18 mins and 40 seconds until it starts ;) and the fixtures are due out on the 19th June .... not long now !

Oi Sensible I take exception to that!!!! I am p*ssed all of the time credit where credit is due please:emoticon-0102-bigsm
In regards Sturrocks second stint I think the rot had already set into HP, there were reasons the other managers moved on, plus in Div 2 you can find the odd nuggent and bring them on but in the Championship you need players to come in and hit the ground running. There are no easy games or settling in time plus there are a lot of eyes around looking for players at that level. I do not believe this train of thought that Sturrock cannot cut it at higher level personally and I think in his second stint he failed to pull us out of the nosedive rather than putting us into it.

Touchy bleddy lot ain't you. Sorry for the slander mexijan.

I'm not sure Harold Houdini would have pulled us out of the nosedive if I'm honest.
