I was scanning over the players and their profiles. Any information about what formation(s) they play and other information is not provided on the website will be helpful. Don’t think there is a thread about them, if there is link me.

All you need to know about women's football is that it's corrupt, elitist and money-driven. Teams are relegated and promoted by committee and small clubs are shunted out the way to make room for 'big' clubs. The gulf between the haves and have nots is huge, and while chelski are paying 400,000 for a single player, other teams in the same division end up in financial difficulties, but as long as chelski are paying half a million for player, who cares about the likes of Sunderland or Watford ending up in financial difficulties and other teams being disbanded?

We’re still at the proper football level in the Women’s game. There’s money issues at the elite level in all ‘sports’. They all turn into money making opportunities for stupid rich ****ers

Exactly. When the WSL was set up, there was the opportunity to make women's football something different, and in many ways better, than the men's game, but the FA seem to be hell-bent on imitating it in all of the worst ways.

Southampton & Portsmouth in the same division this year.
I assume the invests we’ve been making to our women’s team will make us overwhelming favourites

A few years ago, we'd have mopped the floor with Southampton, however unfortunately the problem of having a good team is that eventually all our good players were poached by higher league clubs, which wouldn't be so annoying if we received some kind of transfer fee or compensation, but the FA has made it clear that the purpose of non-WSL clubs is only to provide ready made players for the WSL. It's why I was against the ridiculous play off between the two league winners (north and south) as it was obvious that whoever missed out on promotion would probably have their team picked by vultures, and so it was the case...

Sometimes The Football Association are smelly. I think it is right to give players stepping stone opportunity. Vexatious for the clubs nonetheless.

Like I said, I wouldn't have a problem with it if there was some kind of compensation for clubs. Losing your best players who have come up through the youth ranks and you have developed and getting nothing in return is vexing to say the least.

Southampton Women won 3 - 1 v MK Dons. Almost impossible to get any information about the game, the Saints OS is absolutely useless.

Seems like Southampton have two ex Portsmouth players in their line-up: Leeta Rutherford and Shannon Sievwright.

Random story, when I was the social media person for Portsmouth Ladies (as they were then), when we went clubbing after the end of season awards, the club's media officer asked Shannon out, but she rejected him as she is not that way inclined. And afterwards I told him "I could have told you that!" as for some reason I already knew she wasn't that way inclined but alas, he did not mention his interest in her before asking her out (if he had, I'd have advised him against and prevented the slight awkwardness that ensued). Random times.

Not necessarily. Win the league and you'll still have to enter the footballing equivalent of the Hunger Games so you could win the league and still not get promoted (then chances are have your best players picked off by higher league clubs).

Ha you suck, we scored 5 against Plymouth.

Seriously though, you guys should try to get along to a game. Women's football may be a joke (the governance) but I believe players still deserve support regardless.
