Alright folks, just a quick question. I noticed on the Saints site this morning that the Swansea tickets go on sale on Monday but that the date may be rearranged for Sunday the 5th, and I was wondering what the likelihood of this happening is? The reason I'm asking is because I'm flying over on Friday from Belfast and staying until Sunday and the flights and hotel have been bought and paid for. Surely if the fixture being moved was a done deal they would just say now that it was and not leave it open to debate? I've never had this problem before but we have to book our flights and accommodation early so it's affordable. My flight is at 19.40 on Sunday so I'm just looking for some advice on: How likely it is to moved? If it is, what time is kick off likely to be at? How long would it take me getting a taxi for time's sake from St Mary's to the airport and how much would that cost? The bus is quite a long journey but if the match was at 2 or 3 I could maybe make it. Thanks in advance
That time of day assuming you can get a taxi.....40 to 45 minutes minimum in my view........ Edit ....Also doesn't it depend on whether they are going to change the kick off time too?
The game will be rearranged for the Sunday, as Swansea are playing in the Europa League on the Thursday night.
Yeh I know it depends on what time the kick off is changed to, I was asking if anybody knew what time this could be, if there is a system for it or whatever.
If it's a 3pm kick off (which unless on TV, it will be), then you'll be fine for getting to the airport. I drive past it after walking from the ground to the car and fighting traffic; it's usually 5:30-5:45 that I go passed it. I never leave early and it takes me ages to get out of the Kingsland as I'm two thirds up the stand. Drop you off if you want.
Aw nice one mate! Are you sure? That's very reassuring as we've been freaking out about it since I realised the match was being moved, I'm taking my girlfriend over for the first time and if we weren't able to make the match for fear of missing our flight it would depress the hell out of me. So as long as it kicks off at 3 we'll be 100% ok? The only thing is our bags will be in the Jury's Inn on Charlotte Place. I travel quite light for two nights away but the missus not so much, not light enough to bring our bags to the game but if it was the difference between us going or not I'm sure we would try! Do you go anywhere near there?
That's only a couple of minutes walk out the way on our way back to the car. I've Pm'd you. Sure we can sort it out.
If you are free on the Saturday morning then you could partake in a guided historical tour of the city for a small fee (£3).
Ok excellent! That will leave us more than enough time to collect our bags, even have a bite to eat before we go to the airport. That's a relief, thanks fatletiss for offering us a lift, that would've been a really handy solution. Lol come on lads I did say I was going away with my girlfriend didn't I? I'm not going to take her for a tour on Saturday morning We had the weekend planned nicely and I'll have to rethink it now so she still thinks the onus isn't on the football! It just means I'll be hungover at the match on Sunday as opposed to drunk at it on Saturday
Sod it. I'm struggling now as its a 1:30 kick off. I coach my sons team... Mmm that's going to be difficult.
