Last week 10 man United beat Arsenal in arguably the game of the season.
Arsenal's shooting was so accurate they managed to hit the United keeper on no less than 14 occasions.

This week Arsenal revisit Southampton who they battered 5 goals past in the 3rd round of the fa cup last season.
(You lot all thought I was gonna mention your 4 nil boxing day drubbing there 2 years ago ... but I never make cheap points <whistle>)

It would be the easiest 3 points of the season as Southampton have not scored a goal at home since September 14th 1872.

It is believed that Wenger has been convinced that it now possible for Jack Wilshire to return to the starting 11 after a world class display against the giants of European football Bate last night.
When asked for his thoughts of possibly starting this match Jack said "gotta light mate?"

For some reason Southampton fans get really arsey if asked why they copy the famous Spurs song of "oh when the Spurs" but then if I lived that close to Portsmouth I'd be ****ing cranky.

    Finally team news...
    Lacazette definitely ain't starting ... possibly...maybe.

Finally finally... apparently Southampton and West Ham are keen on signing Walcott in January but his £130, 000 per week wages are an issue.

£130,000 per week for Walcott ???
    <yikes>

    Seriously <yikes>

C'mon you saints...don't let them go 6 clear of us after Stoke kick the **** outta us on saturday :emoticon-0106-cryin

Cos it's our fecking song <grr> Almost saved yourself with the end of that sentence though ;)

Hard to see how this will go, we've been a lot better recently and Austin has hit a bit of form but been an absolute age since we beat one of the top sides in the league... Arsenal always have a dodgy one in them for these sorts of games though so am quietly hopeful.

I'll go for a 1-1 draw. Won't be watching though as I'm on nights so will be fast asleep.

This will be a tricky game, as it usually is whenever we go to St. Mary's. Gabbiadini, Boufal, Austin, Long and Tadic are all very capable players on their day, most of which have caused us plenty a problem in the past. We will need to be well up for this match to win.

Despite Mustafi's rashness on occasion, he has provided us with some balance in defence, so he will be a miss. Holding/Chambers will need to step up to the plate.

One player who will go under the radar and whom I do think we need to look out for is Ryan Bertrand. A technically adept left-back with pace, skill, great-link up play and can provide some much needed width to Southampton's attack. He will be a threat, so we will need to keep an eye on his runs and movement. He's a massively underrated player. Could easily get into any of the top 6 squads and some of their first teams, too.

I'm hoping we can bring our A game and win this. We've lost a third of our matches already this season, really can't afford to be losing anymore ground.

With Chelsea slipping up at West Ham, this is a huge opportunity for us.

Yeah we've had a ragged time at St Mary's over the years. Still think we'll have too much for Southampton tomorrow though, they've been pretty woeful this season. That said, you can still never say with any confidence that the Arsenal we all know who can beat any team will turn up. We could equally get beaten tomorrow and nobody would really be that surprised.

More recently we've had some good results, but it's always been a tricky tie for us. Hoping tomorrow follows recent form and we take all 3 points. But we can be our own worst enemies at times. And if Southampton are up for it, we're always prone to a wobble.

Indeed you are and in that sense I quite fancy the stupid ko time as it seems the sort of game you might struggle in. Hoping Austin can bully your defence a bit.

Mustafi is out, so it will probably be a back 3 of Holding, Koscielny and Kolasinac.

Nah am I **** I'm on night shifts and I'll be hitting the sack at about 8 and wake up to whatever the score is. Mainly doing aways this year too :)

I might find out the score by reading through our match thread rather than checking it... should be quite interesting.

Will probably have to ignore notifications until that's done though <laugh>
