No transfer business until a new manager is hired. I'll have a lot of respect for Southamton if they resist all this cash and keep hold of all the players. A good manager and a few good signings could take them far. If we get Lallana we will have to wait.
Fair play to the board if they stick to this. Board is coming in for a bit of Stick from Saints Fans for what has gone on recently, but if they can keep the side together then good on them. It'd be a shame if Saints were asset stripped in the Summer, it shouldn't be the case that a clubs success is rewarded by half the team jumping to a "bigger" club, doesn't really encourage development.
Oooh you are a one. In the full release they said Lambert was an exceptional case. But you knew that, you tinker.
How the **** haven't they got a new manager yet anyway? They knew Pochettino was leaving about 3 Man Utd managers ago
when did that happen cos this morning it was a private i wish to leave but no request and it'd all be done after world cup..... i think that now everyone is partying in miami there's no way a deal will be done befroe that time frame. Is there a written transfer request?
very true, unfortunately in this day and age its all about the person not the team, ie usually better wages, and the guff about cl football, but mainly the wages lol. i would like to see decent teams keep hold of their better players, but we have 2 teams, one esp, who just buy them so they are not a threat to any one else and let them rot on the bench.
Look i think southampton have largely done it to themselves. their ownership issues and technical director issues and managerial issues have all run from each other. One strong owner, can get shut of the manager or technical director and move on but if you have a nobody knows who's bother effort like southampton have players don't hang round.... not ambitious talented ones anyway. same happened at villa. Same happened to us when G&H did theirs. until stability was restored nobody wanted to know. I do feel the lower sides aspiring to better things should work more on the everton model of long term stability and development rather than the west brom model of changing manager son a whim. now everton are much bigger than west brom but as an example of a club who were 10/12 years ago at the bottom you can see what development does. They have a really good 1st 11 and kept their manager then replaced him well. I do also think however that half of southamptons team is press rumor mongering.
If Saints can keep hold of there key players and best young talent, get in a good manager and sell Osvaldo, enabling a couple of good new signings, they could press top 7.
