Think if he stays we can relax a little over Luke Shaw and other key player's futures. Praying it's true.
Fantastic news all round if true (and gets signed). I know contracts are worth little these days, but it's a clear statement of intent from both KL and MP.
Completely arbitrarily I have decided to believe a newspaper article...on the grounds I want it to be true. Come on Mauricio...you know you want to...you could be a success elsewhere, but you and Saints are such a perfect match. Has the knock on effect that the team will probably stay together and says that Katharina intends to keep the club. P.s. Please give David Salas a small rise...those scarves and cardigans don't buy themselves
The fact it is the Telegraph gives it some credibility...they have a standard of source somewhat about the Twitter trolls used by the red tops.
The good news about this article is that Pochettino will be asked about it this week and his future. I have my fingers crossed for a positive response. After the initial shock of the Cortese departure, his mood in press conferences and in training seems the same as before.
And he will tell us precisely nothing...a lot of words about concentrating on the match, he has a contract until the end of next season etc etc. And all the life will have been sucked out of his comments by the time it has gone through David.
It's great news if true but I wouldn't expect any comments in the press conference other than "I don't comment on my future, we are fully focused on the game Saturday and finishing as high as we can in the league." He doesn't comment on speculation about him leaving as a rule, so why would he comment just because its good news. Will just have to wait until its announced I guess.
He and David could have a code...he gets asked a question....answers 1A, 3E and 5J. David presses a button on the computer and voila....
~Agreed. But I would be very happy if this is done and dusted before close season, that would make for a rather clam summer of player speculation.....'cept in the Mirror.
Yeah I think it needs to be sorted before the close season as we are going to want to start looking at players to bring in over the summer. Players will want to know who is in charge before signing and ideally we will want to do our business before the world cup and avoid the price hikes.
I'm firmly with Fran in choosing to believe this story. Not only does it end speculation on MP but it would also seem to end speculation on the kind of financial backing we can expect in the summer. I doubt MP would stay unless he was allowed to add some significant purchases. Doubly good news!
I'm not saying it's not true, but there's really nothing to justify that level of optimism. I'm just going to wait for more concrete news. The revelation that we are in talks with him is hardly surprising and doesn't really constitute anything of note by itself. It might be that he is in talks and will reject the offer, after all.
