The Ralph-olution Continues ... Southampton FC v West Ham United FC Date: Thursday 27th December, 2018 Kick Off: 7:45pm Venue: Mecca (or St Mary's Stadium to use its nickname) Referee: Craig Pawson Assistants: Lee Betts, Ian Hussin Fourth official: David Coote Current form Saints: TWO wins from TWO, or six points from 6 for the accountants West Ham: Stung by Watford at home and on a downward spiral We're gonna fecking Smash 'em!!!!!!!!!!! I think it only right to start with this: (acknowledgements to Le Tissier's laces, although The Liebherr Legacy will claim he posted it first) It's Ralphy time, there's no need to be afraid At Ralphy time, we play in stripes and with no blue shade And in our world of plenty we can score more goals of joy Throw your arms around Obefami at Ralphy time We score more goals, more than the other ones At Ralphy time it's great, and when you're having fun There's a world outside Southampton That's now filled with dread and fear Where there are no goals a flowing Only Andy Carroll's tears And the Cockney bells that ring there are the clanging chimes of doom Well tonight thank God for Ralph instead of Hughes And there won't be points for the Hammers this Ralphy time Ings and Redders are going to give them strife Big Jan's hair still grows And Armstrong's locks will flow Do they know it's Ralphy time at all? Matt to Long There;s a goal for everyone Here's to Ralph He's our favourite Austrian son Do they know it's Ralphy time at all? Score more goals Score more goals Score more goals Let them know it's Ralphy time again Score more goals Let them know it's Ralphy time again Score more goals Let them know it's Ralphy time again Score more goals Let them know it's Ralphy time again Score more goals Let them know it's Ralphy time again Score more goals Let them know it's Ralphy time again
If we are counting, there are two Cs in accountant. I found it hard to imagine two consecutive wins, now I have to get my head round the idea of three! Good team to be facing and at St Mary's, so why not. Be good to get the points before the City game....why, oh why, did they have to lose against Palace....bastards.
I was going to point out the apostrophe in the possessive “its” but I won’t. Great thread Fats! I see no reason why we can’t beat West Ham, the crowd will be rocking, and while they aren’t as bad as Huddersfield, they certainly aren’t as good as Arsenal. Keeping Noble quiet will be key as he always seems to hurt us one way or another. I nominate Romeu to sit on him as we’ll be without Højbjerg.
As Dave will tell you, there are only three types of accountants: those that can count and those that can't.
Just as well you didn't for it is correct: Rule 1: When you mean it is use an apostrophe. Rule 2: When you are using its as a possessive, don't use the apostrophe. With its you only use the apostrophe for a missing letter.
Venue: Mecca (or St Mary's Stadium to use it's nickname)...think this is the wandering apostrophe that Chilco meant.
Strangely I have a gut feeling we are going to need every thing we have against wet spam they are going to be a tough opposition. They will park the bus...........2-1 is my prediction With the youngster scoring just before the final whistle..............
I spend three hours sketching a masterful portrait of Ralph and the oldies are checking my grammar....
They won’t park the bus mate, that’s not Pellegrini’s style at all. The only thing I am confident about is that this will be an entertaining game of football - and thanks to the six points taken from the last two games, I’m going to try and enjoy it whatever the outcome. So 0-0 then
In the lead-up to the Arsenal match, I believe we were told that Bertrand would be out for a further 10 - 12 days. If correct, then he should be back for this one. Which would pose two questions. Firstly, does he come straight back in? Secondly, if he does come back in, does he also take the captaincy straight back? (Although of course with PEH suspended against West Ham, if Bertrand does start and is made captain, we wouldn't actually know if it's because he is Ralph's captain or because we need someone to fill in for PEH. So we might have to wait a few more days to find the answer. Personally I'm fine with Bertrand coming back in - I don't think Targett has quite taken his chance, particularly in relation to giving the ball away, and I also really want to see if Ralph can get Bertrand playing back to his best - but I really don't want Bertrand taking the armband back.)
I called yesterday's result (never mind all the ones I miscalled; they're irrelevant). So when I say it's going to be 3-0 you can trust me totally. You'll probably get around 30/1 closer to the day with Betfair. Put January's mortgage payment on it. Vin
I see Andy Carroll is up and about. He's always a problem but it's possible at this time of year he may have other commitments.
