We've already cost Hughes his job this season and with us beating Reading on Saturday BM must be looking over his shoulder. What the betting MON is ****ting himself about his visit to the south coast. NA has gone from being the hunted to the hunter in a few weeks.
McDermott shouldn't get sacked. He will be a good manager in the Championship if they get relegated and look at the money he's earnt for the club by gaining promotion. Holloway kept his job. The odds for Nigel's sacking was based on the false premise that Cortese was an axe man after sacking Pardew. He sacked Pardew because they were on different wavelengths, whereas NA and NC are a good match.
I think he'll be gone by Wednesday morning (after defeat to Sunderland). The fans & the chairman seem to be losing patience with him. Its sad, as I think he has earned his chance in the prem & the players still play for him.
If he does, I can envisage allthe PL managers being sacked and only Nigel left looking smug. I wonder what the odds were on Adkins being the last man standing
Hughes was sacked not just over results, but because he'd lost the dressing room. There were all sorts of stories about cliques and resentments among the squad. McDermott clearly still has the respect of the players. I can't see any upside in sacking him now.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20665925 Similar scenario to our own, a change now could do more harm than good.
Well you could have come on here a few weeks ago and, thanks to a very vocal minority, have got the impression that we wanted Adkins out.
I noticed that. Lose to Sunderland and there will be open revolt. In fairness to McD it's not really his fault that the players are clearly not good enough, but if things hadn't gone our way we could have probably said the same thing about Nigel now. Which really shows the incredible job he has done.
I don't see the point of sacking McDermott to be honest. There will be Reading fans that are angry and will say things in the heat of the moment that they don't mean (I have been guilty of that on several occassions this season). Who would they get to replace him though? I would imagine a Russian manager, but I doubt they could do a better job than McDermott. The problem that Reading have now is that players that could get them out of the mess they are in will be reluctant to join if they are cut adrift at the bottom.
so either mcdermot or o'neil to go next what are the chances of arsenal sacking wenger once we get our revenge in jan
If Saints cause other clubs to sack their manager, that's their problem, not ours. I couldn't care less. Let me illustrate my feelings with spiderman.
