Making an official complaint about clattenburg for abusing one of their players.

The 'abuse'? "You've changed since you played for england".

I mean, how embarrassing is it to get all worked up over that?

The complaint has rightly been dismissed but now they want to take it further, tossers.

Interesting thread on their board - there appears to be a couple of people excitedly siding with the club and Lallana, with most of them thinking it's all a bit stupid...

Stupid thing for Clattenberg to say but for the player and Southampton to complain about it is ridiculous.

All a bit precious, they'll end up making themselves look stupid. They've won a lot of admirers for the way they play, this won't help them keep them...

Hopefully the other refs will take 'abuse' as seriously and every time one of their players tells the ref he has made a mistake they will get a yellow card out!

It was after he got abuse for not giving a penalty. I see refs regularly told to **** off with Rooney doing it every week, it should be a red every time.

Interesting to see other managers side with the ref while saints don't want him to ref them again.

To be fair, that is Wayne Rooney's entire vocabulary, so who knows what he means?

Wayne proposing to Colleen "**** off!"

Wayne negotiating with an aged hooker "**** off!"

Wayne buying a MacDonalds "**** off!"

Wayne on being told his hair looks as natural as Elton John's "**** off!"

Wayne choosing his first borns name "**** off!"

Wayne asking Sir Alex if he could play in his preferred position "**** off!"

Wayne asking if there is a fair shout for a penalty "**** off!"

So its easy to get the wrong end of the stick, really.

    Colleen: I've got a headache.
    Wayne: **** off
    Colleen: Yes, it's off!

I object in the strongest possible terms to what has been said about Wayne Rooney. Everyone knows he can't form a sentence containing 2 words!

    Agreed.

You'd have thought that Clattenberg may have kept a low profile for a while wouldn't you?

I never understand the constant piss taking over Rooney's intelligence levels. There is a very long history of really good players being totally thick and I couldn't care less whether he is or not. I just enjoy watching him play.

    Why?

The good refs just tell them to **** off back and get on with the game. Who cares about a little swearing?

There's a huge difference between swearing and abuse of officials.

You were talking about swearing............being told to **** off etc. Calling a ref a complete **** or cheat isn't on, but general banter/swearing is fine imo.

    Southampton are being pathetic!
