Didn't take long for the nonsense rumours to start did it? Guess we should get used to this kind of thing, with greater recognition comes greater (and stupider) press ****e. (How is '****e' swearing?!)
FACTS: He did an interview with Solent on May 1st saying he was staying for as long as humanly possible! He was interviews yesterday and he reiterated the above! He signed a 4and a half year deal back in January last year. He gets on with NC. NC has said the same thing. They share the same ambition! Now get over it!
You are correct with most of your points, although the one highlighted is irrelevant. Adkins may well want to stay as long as possible, but if as the article suggest, he will be sacked, then he doesn't have any say in that. But most of your points are of course correct.
Don't want Bobby thanks, although I wish him well. We've got Nige. He's Mr Southampton and i'm confident he'll be around for some time to come.
It's perfectly possible Cortese will replace Adkins in a few seasons time, as he attempts to guide Saints into long since forgotten areas of football, like Europe. I put nothing beyond Nicola's ambition. If he thinks Saints can do it, and is prepared to put the time and Liebherr money into it, then you'd better believe it will happen. I think it was part of Adkins tired end-of-season admission that he might not be around forever, because Nicola has obviously told him where he wants Saints to go, and Nigel is not sure yet that he's capable of taking Saints there. Not yet, anyway.
Well some people have been putting questions on Twitter to Adam Blackmore of BBC Radio Solent and Nabil Hassan, BBC Reporter on South Coast football, here are their replies: Blackmore: "I haven't seen it, but it may be speculation based on Cortese's friendship with Di Matteo - but you never know." Hassan: "Yes, he hinted towards the end of the season that his relationship was strained. Today's story in the People came as no surprise." The fan then asked Hassan: "Its a watch this space moment then? Suppose if Saints lose 4 of their first 5 games, he will have his excuse!" Hassan replied: "Absolutely spot on."
Doom Mongering - Ignore it As Cortese said before, there is a group of people intent on bringing this club down - Ignore
True, it is unlike BBC employees to get involved in it or comment on it. Still, very odd indeed. Ignore until something concrete appears or it all blows over.
Wouldn't take note of anything Blackmore says he knows **** all. He gives fat ginger people a bad name. His opinions are no more accurate than mine or anyone else on here.
What you really said was so much worse than what I really said! I still claim that ****E should be allowed, it's not like I said '****' or anything..
Didn't that Hassan dude come out with some crap regarding us a few days ago? May work for the BBC but he's obviously not the brightest.
