Anybody see this on the news? Madness. A mob armed with machetes and clubs charged at armed police thinking the cops would run away. Well a few of them did leg it but then the rest let loose on the fellas killing 30 people. I'm guessing this will start a set of riots throughout the slums before that ol terrorist Mandela is wheeled out to ask for peace and order.

Now - what would I do if a group of people came rushing at me brandishing machetes ? (a) Nothing & and wait to be killed. (b) Nothing - because otherwise I might offend somebody of a different skin colour & wait to be killed. (c) The obvious - and live. If I was faced with the situation in which the police found themselves, and I had a gun - I would hope I didn't run out of bullets.
If only Maggie had deployed the same tactic during the miners strike back in '84 the world would have been a better place.
I genuinely believe that you are beelin. Exactly. Stand your ground and get killed or take them out before you get hacked to pieces. Brutal scenes, the BBC freezed the video just as they started dropiing to the ground.
Are you assuming that the miners couldn't see - or know that the police had guns ? - and still rushed towards them regardless of the obvious outcome. Frankly the miners were a suicide squad - that failed !
I watched the vid and the minors looked like a bunch of savages. No sign of Michael Caine but at least this time the good guys won.
