@Smudge1962 Paul Smith Sources close to DJ Campbell claim he is thrashing out personal terms with QPR and expects to complete a deal in the next 48hrs
@Smudge1962 Paul Smith @Cookiee42 I just spoke to DJ Campbell's agent and he says they have only just started talking personal terms so that can't be right 32 seconds ago via web
As you have just said above, i tweeted him about this deal. I was told that DJ Campbell couldnt agree terms with QPR. But he has spoken to his agent so lets hope the deal can be concluded soon!
When Flabio discovers that one of DJ's personal terms is some money. On a weekly basis. It'll be off.
@Smudge1962 Paul Smith My only concern about the DJ Campbell deal is the agent informs me that personal terms are being done through Paladini. That is a worry.
When Flavio learns that DJ isn't going to play the music at his next family wedding, the deal will be off.
I would be really happy to see Campbell sign. Whats important for me is that he has actually scored in the Prem. If we could link him with Bootsy upfront then i genuinely believe that we will have a strike force that COULD keep us up. With Helgs on the bench to be used as route 1 (if needed) it might give us options. Both DJ and Bootsy have pace which is essential in the Prem. Campbell is also strong and could lead the line. I believe that potentially this could be our best strike force for years. With Tarbs, Dyre, Buz, Smith and Faurlin providing the ammo, if might give us a fighting chance. My major concern is the back 4. We really need one commanding centre halk and at least one attacking full back. Despite the criticism i would love to see Upson come in. Walker would be a dream, but not going to happen. If we get Campbell and a good centre half, then i would be happy (considering the board we have that it)
Hope this comes off. Have a feeling he could be excellent for us, just the type of player we need. Fingers crossed!
Italian job for QPR target Campbell Published 22:59 25/07/11 By Football Spy Recommend Neil Warnock is set for talks with DJ Campbell at QPR’s Italian training base in the next 48 hours. Blackpool striker Campbell is expected to fly out today to meet Warnock and finally complete his protracted £1.25million move. Rangers agreed a fee with Blackpool earlier this month, but the deal to sign the 29-year-old collapsed over demands from his agent. However, Warnock has resurrected the deal and will meet Campbell in Ravenna this week in a bid to get the deal across the line. Championship side West Ham are also keen to take Campbell back to London, but the Hoops are set to win the chase. More good news, was initially underwhelmed with the prospect of Gabbidon but after a bit of research I see he has 100 Prem league games under his belt... And as I remember he had a bit of pace as a Centre Half back in his Cardiff days... Could be a good signing... Campbell got 13 prem goals last season, 2nd highest Englishman.... Could work perfect in behind JB and I for one will be delighted if this signing comes off. A speedy FB needed next please
