Anyone else read a bit of a go at NCFC here? http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...his_heart_set_on_bournemouth_switch_1_3764146
Not really, tbh. I see what you're saying, but I think that was an interview with the Bournemouth press, so he really does need to say that sort of thing. And it's a pretty honest assessment of the circumstances. I wouldn't take any of that as an affront to the club, not least because he does appear to have been offered a way back in by Adams, but declined.
Seems to me like he knew he'd get more time on the pitch at Bournemouth and took that chance. I'm glad he has, I doubt he'd be anywhere near the first team with the depth we've got at the moment and he clearly wants to play as much as he can. I like Surman, I think he has a nice style to his game but his lack of pace has always been an issue. Hope he does well with the Cherries. Don't really see where you're getting sour grapes from, other than he said "It's nice to be at a team that is going places" but that's clearly a comment on how Howe's got them playing, not a slight on Norwich.
I don't take any offence either, I wish him all the best and hope he's happy down on the south coast - which it sounds like he clearly is. He's a Championship player not quite good enough for the Premiership so we'd be getting rid of him next summer anyway
I couldn't see it Dave - we know CH didn't play him and then he got crocked. Just a re-iteration of the facts as I read his words...
I think you make a fair point, but I just also think if you look at the context he doesn't have a huge amount of choice without it looking like "I'm not really sure why I came here". And, in fairness to Surman, Howe has indisputably achieved more than our Neyul at this stage. I think Howe is a good quality manager.
I don´t see any slight on Norwich there dave, Surman seems an all round decent fellow, and I think he´s just glad to be given the chance to be playing regularly again. On comparing the two managers, I think it´s fair to say that Adams has yet to prove himself, whereas Howe has already done so, perhaps at the end of the season, we´ll be saying differently.
