Bendtner had been fined â¬100,000 and banned for one match for exposing a company's logo on his underwear while teams who's fans are racist are fined far less. UEFA really need to sort it out!
The sponsers hand over the cash to UEFA so they get top billing. Sad but true. I imagine that it is very difficult for the racism to be dealt with given the problems with both host nations and the Spanish (amongst others) having major issues albeit with small sections. The sanction of threatening to stop a match if there are racist chants to my mind just gives the people (I don't call them fans) doing it more power. I can see a situation where a team are getting a hiding leading to certain individuals racially abusing players and getting the match stopped. In theory if abusing your own team the other side could get in trouble. Crazy. I don't know what the answer is but until countries start getting banned or fines start hurting people (remember the pathetic response to Shaun Wright-Phillips getting dreadfully abused in Spain?) nothing will change.
