I see Thomas Sorensen has been saying that he might have to leave Stoke to get first team football. Anyone think he'd be worth a punt? Also one of the the editors on the football rumours site (always crap on that, but the editors seem to have a wee bit of inside info) said that he heard from a few sources that Kasper's ego got in the way on and off the pitch last season, which to be honest wouldn't surprise me.
He's 35 now and has plenty of premier league experience. Could be worth it but hasn't made many appearances in the last year.
Apparently he's been linked with West Ham. Don't know how reliably, but I think he would be a decent shout
Like George McCartney, Andy O'Brien and Kasper Schmeichel you mean? I think Sorensen would be good if on a permanent. Could still be a Championship/Premiership no.1 for three years yet, regardless of what the 'over the hill' critics say. Very good all-round keeper.
I've always rated him, he played well in the cup final. 35 is nothing for a keeper, especially these days.
i wouldnt mind this deal.. admittedly i'd prefer someone a bit younger but he would be a good keeper for a promotion winning team
Van der Sar remained a world class keeper (and probably still is) to the age of 40. 35 is nothing for a 'keeper.
also linked with Dudek according to YEP http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spor...ed/veteran_dudek_on_grayson_s_radar_1_3522414 FORMER Champions League winner Jerzy Dudek has emerged as a surprise candidate to become Leeds Unitedâs first-choice goalkeeper next season, the Yorkshire Post understands. The 38-year-old is one of several targets being spoken to by the Elland Road club as part of the search for Kasper Schmeichelâs replacement. United manager Simon Grayson had wanted Keiren Westwood but the out-of-contract Coventry City man instead signed for Premier League Sunderland, while other names to be linked with a possible move to Yorkshire include former Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant and Fraser Forster of Newcastle United. Dudek is available on a free transfer after leaving Real Madrid at the end of last season after playing second fiddle to Iker Casillas to such an extent that he made just two La Liga appearances in four years. The former Poland international, who lifted the Champions League in 2005 when wearing Liverpoolâs colours, was recently linked with a possible return to the Premier League with Aston Villa. When asked about the possibility of finding a new club after leaving the Bernabeu earlier this month, Dudek said: âI have not thought about hanging up my boots yet. Look at Jens Lehmann, who returned when requested by Arsenal. âMy family is very happy in Spain and in Madrid so my priority is to not change the country. âBut I have an offer from Spain, and from Turkey and England. What is clear is that wherever I go, I have to play.
