A highly readable interview in the wobby with Marvin Sordell http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...ced_since_joining_Bolton_in_2012/?ref=mr&lp=1 How circumstances can shape a career... Wish him a great time at Colchester as he rebuilds his talent. So far so good: Following his release from Burnley, Sordell signed for League One side Colchester United on 10 September 2015 on a one-year contract.[70] After making his debut in Colchester's 3–3 draw with Chesterfield two days after signing for the Essex club,[71] Sordell scored his first goal for the side three days later with the winning goal in their 3–2 win against Sheffield United at Brammall Lane.[72] On 29 September, he recorded his first club goal at the Colchester Community Stadium as the U's beat Bradford City 2–0.[73]
To be totally honest, I was never that sure he was that good. He didn't look bad, but was surrounded by some pretty average players. He appeared to have potential, but why a player can look good at one club, then go to another and just not produce the same form, suggests that playing style comes into the equation. Looking back there have been many players who have come through the youth team, managed a decent life as pro footballers, but just how many reach the top?
I tend to agree with you ... he came into the role due to players leaving... and he was the next to go...... and surprised he went to a prem club...... BUT... not his fault and I hope he can get back to his good form .....
There was a doubt about how hard he worked which we all know fans and managers love to see. Did score some good goals and had pace though which should have seen him compete at Championship level at least.
