Toodlehup, have joined this forum to do banter with Acworth, a proper charlton legend, i remember him from Voice of the Valley magazine, which always had letters and photos of him in, he looks a bit like a squirrel, but a cute one, I'm not gay tho lol.

I see people on here call him JA or Ackers, I was wondering if he had any other nicknames, me and my mate in the VotV days used to refer to him as AckAck like the anti aircraft guns from the war, so nicknamed because they were used to spot planes in cloudy skies like how John spots good players to sign in non-league, I know some other fanss called him Jack, mixing parts of his first and second name, but I thought that one was rubbish, any others?

Also, should we have a song for him, we have songs for all the players and the physio, why shouldn't we have songs for fans we are an important part of the club, I think we should have a song for Seb who does the worm, and one for Jonathon, I suggest "He spots players in non league, Acworth Acworth, they've got talent you wouldn't believe, Acworth is our leader", I don't know the name of the tune it's too, but it's that one that goes "do do do do dodo do, dodo dodo, do do do dodo do do dodo dodo, dodo do do dodo", other songs use it, does anyone else have any Acworth or Seb song ideas, we could make history and be on soccer am as the first club to do songs about their fans.

thanks charltonnut!and 56 years i am keeping it to minimum on here 2 threads a day ,sensible topics as well!ok i admit back in the 90s i did want curb out only when we where so crap in div 1 at the time ! my personal take on it at the time he should have gone with gritt and i did state that at the time -but i admit he did a brilliant job after that shaky start and i was fully in support of curb i even had a few emails from him which was quite funny so he knows of me!.fortune west if i remember was playing his guts out scoring hatfull of goals which at the time we were lacking big time but i have spotted better since....

JA we had David Whyte Whyte Whyte at the time and later Nelson and mendonca. F-W was a plodder who moved ever northward in search of goals and was last seen with the Elks of Sweden and then the elves of Lapland. I think you imagine you are alwaays right and everone else is wrong, just like idiot A2C and his Daily Malice. No you have not changed and you never will. I don't want to be destructive but you do have an immense amount of silly ideas and occasionally a good one. Ask yourself why Curbishley has heard of you and not us, attention seeking, maybe?

Learn this, not ever idea is a good idea and most ideas are not clever, merely impractical. I should know I was a development chemist for years and a good idea is above a commercially viable idea that people can use or need.
