Fulham Football Club can confirm that Hungarian goalkeeper Csaba Somogyi has signed a one-year deal with the Club ahead of the 2011/12 campaign. The 26-year-old stopper is Martin Jolâs first signing as Fulham manager, with the Club now boasting an impressive array of talent in the goalkeeper department. Somogyi previously played for Hungarian side Rakospalotai EAC and impressed Manager Martin Jol during a trial period at his former club Ajax in 2010. Following a successful trial period at Fulham last week, the six-foot-three inch keeper put pen-to-paper on a deal as a free agent with Fulham on Monday morning. The Club has the option to extend Somogyiâs deal at the Cottage by a further year until 2013.
I know this is no real judge but they are actually usually pretty accurate with their stats - I had this guy in my Seville team when I was playing Football manager 2011 and he was really good. Got me to the Champions league final and won the La Liga. If only life can imitate computer games.
I have tried to dredge the net for info on this guy but come up blank. Good luck to him though, I hope he does well for us. It does however, through a few questions up. He has signed on a 1 year deal with an option to extend this if we want to. Surely this must mean that we are going to loan out Stockdale for the season and see how he does, whilst also deciding on Somogyi. Sounds like fairly intelligent management. Fulhaman, any chance you could sign Thierry Henry for a season loan on FM, maybe we could get him to the club !!!
rf nice to see you back, read about this guy when you sniffed out the news at the training ground. any snippets you may hear let us know.
