Last summer it was word connecting, this summer I'm going to suggest riddles to liven the board up a touch between now and the start of the football.

    OK, first one:

Bear Grylls goes exploring a little-known part of Tunisian desert. He comes across a ruthless tribe of cannibals who are desperate to try out some new methods of cooking human flesh, but the leader is prepared to reward quick thinking and intelligence with release. He tells Bear that he must make a short statement/declarative and will be shot if he doesn't. He is told that if what he says is true, he will be boiled alive in water. However, if what he says is false, then he will be boiled alive in oil.

How does he get out of it?

    Numero deux:

OK, this one isn't really a riddle. How can you form a sentence in the English language which makes perfect sense and obeys the laws on grammar, and have the word "and" in it 5 consecutive times?

    Possibly:

"I will be boiled alive in oil"?

    2nd:

"I am off to paint between the words Rose and and and and and Crown"!

What English word has three consecutive double letters?

Oh, and Bookkeeper. My Dad's University of Cambridge attending friend sometimes likes to pull that one out!

“You eat more than I do,” said Tweedledee to Tweedledum.
“That is not true,” said Tweedledum to Tweedledee.
“You are both wrong,” said Alice, to them both.
“You are right,” said the White Rabbit to Alice.
How many of the four statements were true?
