Lewis Hamilton is actually getting faster every season while being compared against Jenson. People would say Jenson's best year against Lewis was in 2011 when he beat him on points. But the times in qualifying suggest Jenson was closer to Lewis in 2010 in outright speed and has lost around a tenth against Lewis every season in qualifying ever since. (In Qualifying) Lewis Vs Jenson 2010: Mean (0.1886) Lewis Vs Jenson 2011: Mean (0.2717) Lewis Vs Jenson 2012*: Mean (0.4145) Average over entire career: Mean (0.2916) *So far... Has Lewis got faster, has the experience finally paid off?, or has Jenson got slower because of age? Thoughts? I was just annoyed at how bad Jenson was in qualifying at Hungary and almost being 7 tenths off his team mate! If he did qualify within the actual average *I display above for 2012 alone*, he would of been fighting Romain for 2nd spot (within 0.001) rather than by himself in 4th. And yes of course I've done one for Seb Vs Webber, but as team mates over their entire career: Mean (0.2182) in qualifying against Webber.
Can we now just refer to him as God? Those states prove he is the best there has ever been. Really. I mean, how can anyone argue against that? Damn I want his babies.
Dont forget he still needs more work on how to treat a group of 10 ladies at a hotel party correctly! Then he would be the most complete driver on the grid...
Jenson was cursed when the pundits that said Hamilton would eat him alive in 2010 then professed that Jenson would dominate Hamilton in 2012.
The reason is that Jenson only started beating Lewis from Hungary onwards in 2011. His start to the year wasn't that great at all. I'd imagine Hungary to Brazil average would be more in keeping with my memory (not including Spa of course). Then there's this season for which i am waiting for January 2013 to begin a policy of denying it ever happened.
As a JB fan first and foremost this highlights how fast generally Lewis is and also how average JB is over 1 lap. Credit where creditis due - although there are no points for Quali and it would be interesting to see the difference in race times - Probably a comparison of total race times for completed races rather than just highlighting fastest laps?
Don't forget that since the Australian Grand Prix in 2011 lewis has also been known to have poor 'plank management'
Whoever does maintain it must of commited suiside recently because the standings on the side are stuck on: [h=2]F1 Championship Standings[/h]88 Lewis Hamilton 86 Fernando Alonso 85 Sebastian Vettel 79 Mark Webber 67 Nico Rosberg
its because lewis knew by then he could no longer win the championship and lost focus, whereas jenson was desperate to finish runner up. and this on average stuff is nonsense.we've seen every season lewis be atleast 4-5 tenths quicker than jenson in quali very often, occasionally almost a second quicker. and lap times during a race dont mean too much because of the different positions in a race each team mate is in at different stages in a race. a focused lewis will beat jenson everytime.jenson only has a chance if lewis loses focus, and they keep messing up lewis's pitstops and underfuelling his car. this season as the seasons gone on they have been forced to not mess things up for lewis to help button, because despite everything theyve done to lewis it hasnt worked. i.e in both those races jenson got a dnf,he was only ahead of lewis because they messed up lewis's pitstops. but their last attempt to get jenson up in the standings with lewis was to focus completely on button and give him all of lewis's data. then they messed up lewis clutch settings in germany to make sure he didnt get ahead of jenson at the start of the race.they used the same tactic in australia to get jenson ahead of lewis at the start.they both had different front wings for that race too. anyway they thought that making sure jenson finished ahead of lewis in germany would raise jensons confidence, and then he'd go on to beat lewis in hungary too,but it didnt work. so now theyve decided they cant keep helping jenson in the way they have,so they now have to accept that lewis is their best hope for the championship imo
