Not totally his fault, he was given information from the police and it wouldn't normally run through your head they are covering something up. He took it as reliable information and should not be villified, imo.
He was part of the Thatcher government who fostered the 'brown shirt' mentality held by the police during this era..In otherwords one of their major roles was to put down dissent against the government by any means available...This also seemed to make them believe they were virtually untouchable when it come to transgressions which I have no doubt contributed to the Hillsborough tragedy and the cover up afterwards. PS..When Thatcher pops her cloggs it will be time in the RAW household..
