After yesterday's wonderful display, I am full of optimism that The Gills will not get relegated ( I also lie )

I have been looking at the remaining fixtures of the clubs around the bottom of L1. (On paper) It looks like that Stevenage are doomed. I don't think that they'll amass any more than 42 points.

Of the rest I have tried to 'predict' the outcome of each of their games ( erring on the side of caution as far as each result relates to The Gills )

It wouldn't surprise me if 4 or 5 clubs ( including Gills ) end up on 48 points. ( allowing for a Shrewsbury win on the last day ). It does mean that we MUST get at least one point from the game with Tranmere to bring us up to 49 points and make it slightly more difficult for THEM to overhaul that total of points.

With our goal difference getting rapidly worse I don't want us to be stuck on 48 points and suffer relegation by this factor. Happy Days.

Don't expect us to win on the last day if we need it. How many times have we failed on the final day?

I think if we can beat Tranmere on Saturday we will be safe a defeat or a draw means ,in my opinion, that we will probably need to beat the Shrews on the last game of the season. I can't see us getting anything from the Preston and Walsall game

As for PT I just can't understand why he keeps meddling with the team (injuries aside) I said when we beat MK Dons away we should stick with that team (first clean sheet away) and he gas done nothing of the sort. Dack and Hess should be ever present in the team as the energy alone will do the business!

Here's to a victory next Friday come on u gills

I can't even talk about yesterday's game, I think after the 4th goal went in that's the most dejected I've felt since the 99 final. It hurt, but it seriously annoyed me some of the chants which simply won't help the players.

We need to get behind our team on Friday, I'll support my team through everything, and I think, as I stated at the start of the season, that we may just sneak staying up by virtue of 4 or 5 teams being more rubbish than we are. But I would happily take that now.

Also, if we were to end up on 48 points then we would have lost 9 of our last 10 games and therefore deserve to go down! I've never wanted to go to Yeovil so much as I do now, Luton I do not want!

I share your pain. It is still 'raw' !

I did boo at half time - although I did not join in with the call for Taylor's head ( even though I have plenty of opinion about his negativity and team selection )

You may be correct to say that to boo your team doesn't help them - but I thought that the fans, by-and-large were very supportive of the players despite the goals raining into Nelson's net. The Gills fans carried on singing despite the scoreline. However after the quick fire 4th goal following the 3rd, the fans had every right to vent their anger at the rubbish that was being offered by the team.

For many fans Saturday was their 'once-a-season' outing. Many are not in the fortunate position as I am - in being able to financially afford to go to all matches - so to be given so little value for money on their one away match was hard to accept without criticism -- not that criticism was less deserving from those with more money than sense.

I have said that I will be taking a rest from going to the last two away games - I need a break ! - and I don't actually mean a break from the team's lack of ability - because I believe that we have a squad that is capable of sitting much higher in L1..... No I need a break from Taylor's tactics - that is instrumental in dragging us down. If it wasn't for my season tickets and blind faith ( stupidity ), I probably would seriously consider not bothering on Friday or 3rd May.

Gills-man-Ant-Dog - I agree with your first two paragraphs.

Despite my view on Taylor in the 'Disgraceful' thread and my own vented frustrations at the fourth goal, I do feel some supporters went OTT. Even at the end there were a few individual's giving impolite hand gesture's towards the players. I have to honestly say I had not seen many of the supporters involved in certain gesture's on our travels previously this season. They are entitled to their opinion as much has me but it certainly went beyond a level i find acceptable in my own personality. It was good to see Stuart Nelson came over at the end and got the best rapport. I have my views but I will be completely behind every player on Friday, regardless of my opinions. There is no point going along to boo and jeer your team otherwise you might as well stay at home, it helps no one.

Agreed, i've only missed a handful of away games and haven't seen that level of abuse or anything close to what i saw on saturday, ok the performance was awful and a bit of booing i can understand. But as you mention BRB the hand gestures towards the players at the end when they were effectively apologising to us was disgraceful. Like you both say, it must be those that only go once a season, nevertheless i don't agree with personal abuse.

Largely the same set of players that were gods to these people last year when we won the league. Yes it was a bad performance and it hurt a lot, i too was angry however we have to support our team, I just can't understand how they thought that would improve the performance.

I must say though it was a minority that I was annoyed at, as Always suggests there was still a lot of support for the team in the 2nd half, until the gestures at the final whistle.

Gills-man-Ant-Dog, I must admit it was the hand gestures at the end i found most offensive. If the players had gone straight down the tunnel they would have got stick, so they come over to apologise and they got the added hand gestures as well has the abuse.
