(1) We have signed Abdul Razak on a three-month loan. For me, only a good idea if with a view to a permanent signing, maybe if Stephens goes. Anyone know if loan players can play in the u21 league because we are short of a CM there? (2) Leon Clarke has scored 5 goals in 5 games. Some going at any level. Mind you, Alan Knill is bemoaning the chances they missed and we can guess who was one of the culprits. Still, good news if his goalscoring helps get him off the payroll. (3) Seen a lot of Arsenal this season on TV and have been pleasantly surprised by Jenkinson. Rock solid today against Chelsea and helped create their goal. I thought they bought the wrong right-back last season but now not so sure. He may go further in the game than Solly because he has physique on his side.
1) Already the talk is that he is on an emergency loan till Christmas then we may convert to a normal loan till the end of the season. 2) If we leave him at Scunny till Christmas and he gets say 10 in 15 then there must be a chance some League 1 club will go after him? 3) For me, Jenkinson was always the best prospect from his two seasons in the U18s, I think Chris has slightly more skill, but, as you say (him being about 6'2) Jenks has the physical size for Prem football.
I couldn't care less about jenkinson to be honest he's history and all rather messy when he left much prefer silly who was excellent again though playing out of position. BWP had a thankless task yesterday and doesn't deserve any criticism
Having seen the you tube video of Razak (yes I know......but it was impressive) the thought went through my head too that he is being groomed as the long term replacement for Stephens. Jackson immediate absence gives him an opportunity. Stephens to play further forward if we keep yesterday's formation (and I see no reason not to) I still watch Jenkinson and think he looks out of his depth. But I may be seeing what I want to see. .
