http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/61...-League-2012-2013-Manchester-City-Southampton Was looking for a while and this was the best I found. Most telling for me were: Top passing: Ward-Prowse 88% completion - great composure shown at 17. Most clearances: Fonte- 13 - This is absolutely massive from Fonte since Lescott was the next highest from either team with 5. Others: Most tackles: Clyne & Schneiderlin - 6 Most interceptions: Lallana and Puncheon - 3 Most aerial duels won: Fonte - 3 Most Dispossessed (loss of ball to opponent): Lallana - 5 Most shots : Schneiderlin - 3 Most blocks: Hoovield - 3 Most passes: Schneiderlin - 51 Key passes: Lallana and Puncheon - 2 Accurate crosses: Puncheon - 2 (no one else completed a cross)
I knew Schneiderlin had a storming game! HA! Although I ****ed up stats wise on fonte with my ratings.
The weak links were definitely Clyne and Fox for me. I wouldn't say Schneiderlin had a storming game as the whole midfield played just as well as him other than Rodriguez. We all played well as a team. Just a shame a few basic errors cost us goals.
First goal Fonte tried to play Tevez offside and Clyne was positioned wrong playing Tevez onside. Full backs should never be the deepest man. 2nd goal he came off his post and they scored at that post. He looked promising and was a little unlucky he was punished so severely for making those mistakes. Same for Fox really with the bad header on the 3rd goal. It's hard to be too harsh on them it was a difficult game.
Clyne was man of the match for me. I think Davis was mainly responsible for the first because it was at his near post, Guly for the second for leaving Dzeko and Fox for the third with the header. Clyne was great defensively and going forward, the only time he got tackled was when Tevez (I think) barged him over and it should have been a foul. Also, he tackled Aguero fairly and injured him, that's good for everyone!
Tevez could of very easily been given offside and not much fuss would have been made. He was ahead of Fonte when he stepped up. If you're being ultra critical(which you are) then they should have left there posts sooner to get within range to block and catch people offside. This is all split second decisions and I'm sure we expected a low drive from outside the box and not the bobble straight to the striker.
Clyne played Tevez onside yes, but that decisiveness to play on or offside will come with experience, second goal he charged down the ball at Toure's feet who was six yards out from goal, not his fault it deflected straight to dzeko who finished it superbly. Fox was the weakest link yes but he didn't have that bad a game apart from the third goal. He looked distraught as well, felt sorry for the lad, it happens to all of us.
