...let's hope some kindly older folk picked them up again. Seriouly, conditons look awful I just hope everyone pulls through. Scandinavians watching the HDM video will be organising relief parcels. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/whats-on/more-snow-ice-way-severe-856118
You're welcome. Let's really push the boundaries, here's a deer at Spurn Point... please log in to view this image
Bright sunshine all day in Cheshire. Bit crisp but nowt to worry about. I was watching Lady Chesh defrost the cars this morning whilst eating my porridge, she looked a little nippy outside yet was colder still, towards me, when she came back in.
Trouble is, for most of my life I had been told to watch out for elderly people in bad weather, mam was often telling me as we had a few old uns near to us. Nowadays I'm one of the old uns ffs.
The wife took the dogs out along the beach this afternoon. Was moaning how cold it was and wanted to show me a photo she had taken. I said I'll Have a look when you've made me a cuppa. Not a bad picture. Mild weather for us hardy folk who live near the coast though. please log in to view this image
That takes me back to the other year when we had that bad winter. I decided to drive to kilnsea and then walk to spurn point. Never looked at the weather. Great sunny walking there but the snow hit on way back. Coldest I've ever been . Just thought I'd tell everybody.
Slipped on ice this morning and fell awkwardly on my left wrist. Fortunately I drink with my right hand so no damage done there but my sexlife will have to be put on hold for a while.
Sleety snow here in Norfolk... Spent lunchtime at the pub for a mate's birthday spread. Pub's log-burner roaring away. Wot larks!
Several snow flurries during the day here in North Tyneside. Nowt to worry about. Melted then froze again just in time for rush hour. The roads are like ****ing skating rinks. Note to all three council areas I've just driven through: Remember Gritters?
Funny you say that, a lot of silly ****s with Summer tyres on were ****ed today. BMW abandonment at the slightest gradient. He who laughs last laughs longest.
That RH report wasn't really accurate, there was only a couple of inches of snow, it was the jackknifed lorry that was really causing the problems between Newbald and Cave (the hill past Rudston is always a write-off when it snows). It was a right pain, I had a table booked at the Pipe and Glass and couldn't get there.
If you'd had Winter Tyres, you'd easily have got there, finding an alternative route. I was on the road trying to get to a wake at Rudstone Walk from Haltemprice Crematorium. It was NOT just a jackknifed lorry. If winter tyres were a legal requirement, half the stupidity I witnessed yesterday would not have occurred. People can chat **** and make dumb ass comments, why wouldn't you want to make yourself and your car safer for driver and occupants? Avoid the general ****wittery witnessed yesterday by dipshits with the wrong tyres on.
