    .....or make excuses for.

    Others you can't.

I forgave Aiden McGeady an awful lot of things. His poor shooting and crossing got a bye from me because I thought he brought so much else to the table. Others gave him nothing.

Most of us could forgive the Boruc Howlers because he'd do something incredible the next moment.

Dan and Glenda get no slack at all.....I don't think they deserve any

Hoof got a lot more slack than Heid

O'Dea gets more slack than anyone.

Samaras......The Greek enigma gets no slack. None at all. Conversely, he has been granted more slack from management than anyone. (and is presently repaying that faith)

Broon falls into a similar bracket although not as marked.

Who do you give a bye to, and who gets no forgiveness?

No excuses for Tony Cascarino, simply the worst player I have ever seen in Hoops, awful. Le Merde, no forgiveness ever for the way he made a fool of Celtic for the sake of hard cash.

I always had a soft spot for Anton Rogan and forgave an awful lot when he was the target of the boo boys. He was not the most talented, far from it, but he was like a weeble, however many times he was knocked down he always got back up, never shirked or hid and always gave it 100%, you can't really ask form more than that from a Celtic player.

Cas was muck. I can't believe he forged such a career in France.

On players never shirking and never hiding, Sammy is in that bracket, no matter how poorly he was playing.

This talk about Celtic fans giving Celtic players no slack is just crazy. Celtic fans pay for their season books, or matchday tickets and that gives them a right to enter the stadium and take their allocated seat.
As far as giving no slack, or shouting abuse purchase of either the above does not bestow that right.
If you are a Celtic fan, then it is a given that you are a Celtic supporter and circumstances have to be very extreme indeed before a supporter can turn on an individual Celtic player, group of players or the whole team. Unfortunately if things go slightly awry at all on the field those supporters wit the biggest mouth seem to take over and their effect is to upset the whole team. We have been acclaimed to be the best supporters in Europe and in the World but we are not great Celtic supporters if we turn at our own players. No player can perform if their confidence is effected, hearing shouting and abuse roaring by ones own fans is not a confidence builder and maybe that was the big difference by Tony Cas here and in France.

Cascarino never met with abuse, only laughter at his inadequacies.

I meant in specific regard to a cold hearted analysis of the game. You can shift "blame" around for goals conceded and justifying why certain goals were conceded. I don't mean getting on players backs at all.

For example, in the cup game the other week Izzy got most of the blame for not tracking young Fulton. Big Vic played a bad pass and Cha wasn't strong enough to retain the ball. Nobody really got on any of their backs for that too much, but the mistakes were noted. For example, if Marc Crosas had played the pass, Paul Telfer had not challenged and Mo Camara been posted missing, that would be held up post match as evidence of their ****ness.

I am not talking about jeering a bad pass or a bad tackle at the time it happens.

I agree, in that particular incident Izzy was almost on the half way line having just been up the park attacking, when Vic gave the ball away Izzy tracked all the way back to try and get a tackle in, it was not his fault in any way, I put it down to Vic.

Rebel, are you normal. We are in the midst of a very long powerful run of domestic victories and you wonder why nobody really got on players back, for a number of errors that resulted in a goal conceded.
My God, concede two goals now in the one game and we need to get a sniper out. Players are not allowed to think of taking a chance and making
a mistake. I will never understand some football supporters. Will the fans getting on their backs make them better footballers.
I certainly don't agree and I think it is certainly wrong but some people may think if they are following a team struggling that they could voice there anger
That of ourse is wrong but after 14/15 unbeaten games most with clean sheets, you are a bollocks.

    Yes, I am normal.

Are you capable of critiquing a players performance?

You mentioned Heid as someone who got no slack - I think i was in the small minority who said he was our best defender. McManus was (and is) awful. Admittedly Caldwell is too, but slightly less so. I think. <laugh>

To be more accurate then, should your prospective thread not read - "ex-celtic players I hate"? (Should still be banned though! )

At that time, he probably was our best defender.

Against Barca he got absolute dogs abuse for passing the ball to Ronaldinho.

It was one of the first games for Caddis and he got huge praise for his performance. By and large, it was very good but I thought Caddis was at least partially responsible for not making the pass a bit easier because he allowed Ronaldinho to stand in between him and the ball.

Undoubtedly a **** pass, but it wasn't just Heid. Heid got the ****, Caddis got the praise.
