So i went to the orient game today and at half time i wanted to go see my mate who i wasn't sitting next to. I went and found him and we had a conversation about the first half.

The next thing i know the guy I'm now standing next to threatens to hit me and so does his wife!! All I've done is gone to speak to my mate at half time and nobody is currently in the seat I'm in as its half time. My mate then tells them I'm only talking to him and will be gone before the second half. This is when the women decides to have her input and offer to take me outside the ground and in her words "do me in" seriously what have i done here? I'm not invading their space I just can't see why "Charlton fans" are trying to start fights with their own and for me it ruined the second half as i was so frustrated with it all.

Sorry for the moaning lads and I hope you all have a great new year!!

sorry u had problem belvedere but it doesnt help when its a 5pm kick off many supporters from what i saw got to the ground around 3pm and then went into the pub so probably most had a pint one to many with it being new year and all, where i was sitting i think i saw a bit of a ruck towards back of the stand when the plod came up the steps ,their was also a bit of a ruck just in front of me to the left just before half time i didnt quite see what was going on as people where standing up charlton fans are normally good behaved on away games so let it be a one off to much drink and new year happy new year

I have to admit I've been to many Away Games over the years and this season but tonight really did take the biscuit.

I've never seen such a bunch of control freaks like the Leyton Orient stewards as they were forcing fans to sit in their allocated seats even though there were loads free available was pathetic

Agreed, A4L, you should never have to queue up for 15 minutes when you've bought a ticket in advance.

I wasn't in my right seat, because the steward clearly didn't know where my row was - he directed me to completely the wrong place and I just sat in a spare seat.

Pity really, we were having a good bit of banter with the pitch stewards especially when we started having a go at the fat bloke in the blue top - very amusing.

Belvedere, could alcohol have been involved at all? It seemed to me that some sections of our support last night (which was magnificent) had started their New Year celebrations a bit early.

Tewkes your probably right about alcohol being involved but none the less I don't expect to go to a football match and be threatened by my own set of supporters. I mean we're all there for the same reason to cheer on Charlton!

Belvedere, was the argument you had the reason all the police wandered up?

Agree about the stewards, I also didn't see the point in having a big empty section in between the two sets of away fans?

As for the 'sitting in the right place', I was told by a steward that we could sit/stand where we wanted!!? But I was in the left-side of the stand so it may have been different for those on the right-side.

I heard a couple of attempts at it towards the right hand end of the stand, quickly got drowned out though.

There was a real nasty edge to the atmosphere last night. So much in-fighting and bitterness.

However, the Yeovil match was a complete contrast. A great crowd in good voice and full of light-hearted banter.
