Hot off the vidiprinter is Plymouth 2 - 1 Aldershot. Damn them I've been predicting 2 - 1 for nearly every match so far and when it doesn't count they go and do it. Obviously I'm not there or I wouldn't be posting right now. Bet there weren't more than 3500 there tonight despite the resduced admission price. I'd rather they had done this score in the league though.

Apparently it was a South American wonder goal that won it for us. What exactly is that mexijan? A win is a win though and a couple of quid in the collection box so I suppose I shouldn't scoff too much. COME ON YOU GREEEEEEENS!!!!!

Well spending most of my illustrious career at centre half and getting a nose bleed if I passed the halfway line that term means ´wonder if he will ever score a goal´ <ok>

It was General Guieltieri who scored the wonder goal so I read. Somebody has posted an opinion of the ratings from tonights game on ATD and is quite complementary about performances. He is young and slightly green tinted but nonetheless it was positive.

Tended to come on as a late sub so far. He does look tricky when he is on a bit of form so a decent performance is not too much of a surprise. Perhaps he needs to start a few. The person giving the marks out of 10 on ATD gave him a 10. Doubt that but he obviously did well.

Aldershot seem to have had something approaching a full side out.

Lennox apparently crucified Aldershot's full back [one of their changes from the last league game] to the extent that he was subbed after 30 minutes of torture. Lennox made both goals. One of Aldershot's travelling 80 fans queried whether it was Iniesta in the No 19 shirt.

Richards [aged 18] was described as "untroubled throughout" at centre back and the Richards/Nelson partnership was deemed better than Purse/Blanchard has been recently. This was the general tone with many wanting to start this 11 on Saturday.

The shock of a home win may have brought on acute Greenitis but I am repeating only what others said.....

Richards is very highly thought of and considered a better prospect than Nelson but think would he should have a year or so more before he is played regularly. To play the two together would be a big risk especially if Houri and Young are infront of them. Lennox must be in for a start Saturday with MacDonald gone even if we get him back I would like to see him given a go and Mac in the middle with Griffiths(or whomever is fit this week)

Don't disagree about the youngsters but nice to know they are there. There is something that has slipped back in that defence though from last season so it may be a case of needs must.

I think the idea with the loans was to renew AFTER the last night's game. Apparently that gives one extra league game that the loan players can take part in.

Lennox played well when he first joined and he was obviously excellent last night. Perhaps the question though is of consistency. That tends to be the case with flair players but if he's in hot form, now's the time to give him a few games.

I think the defensive improvement last season wasn´t solely down to Purse and Blanchard pairing up but also a change between Le Sticks too. Cole maybe a good shot stopper but still unconvinced as an all round keeper nothing worse than a quiet keeper behind you. Not seen him play for a while but far to quiet and hardly commanding from what I saw of him. Gilmartin was in last night maybe needs a run in the team.

Lennox flair and young pretty much equals inconsistancy but need to give him a go. As for the loans that was what I heard so just fingers crossed that it can be sorted. From Fletchers wording it seemed that it would be. Interesting comment when reading through the articles ont he PAFC website was that several attempts at loans had fallen through before we got Griffiths which is a bit worrying.

One thing I would say about Lennox is he is seldom given much time to make an impact. When he has come on we are either chasing a game or holding on. I have always thought he was quick a tricky sort of player who the ball seems to stick to a lot. Small and lightweight though and if given a good thumping by a hefty back is not built to withstand. His final ball is often a wee bit wayward but in my mind I would give him a full run out. This is the problem with Fletcher though. He has a tendancy to stick with certain players despite not getting the desired results with them. Perhaps if put under a bit of pressure he just might take a risk or two.

Defence isn't all about the 5 at the back. Maybe 5 in midfield - two hard tacklers in the centre [Wotton and Walton as an example], two hard workers out wide and only one out & out striker is what's required.

    Retires to a safe distance........................

Notdistant is Fletcher and I claim my prize...............

We have a comic score prediction in my group on a matchday. One of my mates always goes for 6 - 5 or 5 - 3. He reckons that one day he will get one right and we will play 1 - 2 - 7. I was thinking of writing to Fletcher with the sugestion. Can't be much worse than we've had.
