There's an annual 'chili fiesta' held at Felbrigg Hall near Cromer, which I have attended the last two or three years. Plants, sauces, jams, chili flakes etc, etc. All the makers / exhibitors have little pots with broken biscuits you can dip in and taste pending a sale, ideally. Last year I tried a tiny scoop of Trinidad Scorpion chili sauce and it brought me to my knees - and I was incapable of speech for at least ten minutes . Hooray, I hear many people cry - shame it's only ten minutes!!
As you can see from the Grim Reaper's schedule, it's sometime in August, date TBC. Maybe we can liaise nearer the time, as I plan to go again http://www.grimreaperfoods.com/index.php?route=information/information&information_id=7
I love spicy food and hot things. Someone bought me 100% pain hot sauce for my Birthday the other year. I can't eat it. I feel trying a little dot now and again. It is so so hot, and such an intense taste of chilli, it's not even a nice flavor. I get it out now and again at Parties as dares. Plus will probably do some pranks with it down the line.
I've tried the Trinidad Scorpion raw, only a piece about 5mm square, that was insane, heat and pain of another dimension, but if you think that the Scorpion is hot, try the Carolina Reaper, the hottest chilli in the world, I.ve only tried it in sauce form, but I can see that the name 'reaper' is well deserved.
