Thought this Q and A from Joeys website was interesting bearing in mind the question posed to him echoes many of the views on here.

Q - I've learnt as a QPR fan I'm embarrassed to see our name and badge associated with you now.
    *
Why should we give you another chance after all the things you've done in your career, it seems as though you will never change. I watched the Man City game with some people oversees and I was proud to be a QPR fan whilst we were fighting off the leaders and avoiding relegation, it was such a great day for the club. Then when you did what you did I just felt utter embarrassment.
    *
How is Tony Fernandes supposed to build up an oversees fan base when we have players doing things like what you did in the Man City game, who wants to support a team with players like that in it?
    *
Why should QPR fans give you a second chance?

A - *davesmith86*I am sorry that you feel that way. I have tried to do my best to move past that incident. The answer to your Q, I dont feel is best answered on a forum of a website. I think that type of Q, is best answered through performances and attitude. Similar, to the ones I think I have shown a number of QPR fans, during the season and more importantly at the end of the season when the club was threatened with the prospect of relegation. Only time will tell whether I managed to do that or not but I am not gonna sit here and say, I do this or that because its only words. Hopefully, in time Dave I can get the chance to prove my worth to the club through performances. Thanks for the post. JB

Sounds genuine and I guess time will tell if / when he gets a chance to perform.

He's definitely an honest and earnest character but he may always be haunted by red mists.

I can guarantee that, in the cold light of day, he hates them just as much as we do.

He's obviously fully aware of our concerns. Be interesting to see what gives when he returns.

I just wonder whether he said the same words to Man City fans and Newcastle fans when he was at those clubs.
Would prefer to see him leave for good

Can't see him getting back into the team if they perform but I agree 100% with what the club has done by keeping him as He shut me up a few times last year, seems to be talking a lot more honestly ... I doubt if he will ever change at a person but in some matches this season we may need him... if the refs give me a fair time ... He is marked now and that could cost us as everyone will out to wind him up if and when he plays for QPR

He says all the right things but his actions have constantly been the wrong thing.

    I know which I prefer.

If he genuinely means it I can see him coming back fresh and being a really useful squad player for the Christmas busy period. Flyer, you're absolutely right. He will be targeted as he was last year when he was the most fouled player. Needs him not to react and hopefully teams get punished for targeting him.

You are right, the most fouled player. it just proves that the refs are of such poor quality that they do FA about it. 'Its Barton so it must be his fault'.

Tevez should have been given a red first and then JB. Then the extra games suspended would not have happened. Big club/small club.

That was just one of the many really bad refs actions against us last season. I am not an appologist for JB because I think he is a prat but he is still one of us.

Sorry but money counts and I do not think he will move on purely for financial reasons so don't be surprised to see him in hoops come January particularly as it is that time of a the rediculous Africa's Cup. why dont the Prem league stand up for their clubs on this. let the Africas cup be an under 21's thing rather than take well paid players from clubs to play in a second rate competion.

I think a lot of people just jump on the "lets hate Joey Barton" band wagon.....I actually like the guy, I think he's a character and you need people like him in the world or it would be a boring place.

He may of had a bitof a poor season, but you cant say he is a rubbish player, because he isnt.

If he comes back and puts in good performances, then I will be chuffed.
