    top 6 mini league

    ....................................................

    Conclusions?

Pretty much what the eyes tell you. We have scored less goals than last year but we are defensively much better against the better teams.

We are unbeaten v nearest rivals but 2 of the 3 draws are away draws so far (cheslea and arsenal)

A win off utd next weekend would place us quite handily in the top 6 mini league as well at the half way point of those games.

these games really show the ability of the sides. City have scored least goals of any of their own games in this format. They've hammered the lesser sides.

The others are all letting in quite a few goals. It really is mixed up.

It should be noted last year we conceded 20 goals in the 10 games of the mini league and got 10 points. i think.

The stats for games against top half doesn’t look great but I guess have to take it with pinch of salt in that 4 of those 7 were against the other top 5 teams who are all fighting for top 4 / title.

For a a while it was always our downfall against the teams at the bottom, too many draws but this year despite maybe not being at our best going forward, we’ve worn teams down enough to get those points which is really encouraging.

In theory, beat the bottom 10 home and away and you’ve got 60 points. That’s a good starting point to then go and get close to a title win.

Yeah mourinho always said that before he lost it.

all 3 of our draws v top half are v top 4... 2 away...
if we look at it this way...

in the top 6 mini league we played 4. 3 were away games

This is our performance over 5 years, all blocks

Smoothed red line is average per block from prior years.

We have seen the following historically:

    1. poor form in Oct/November which is block 3 which coincides with Internationals and CL groups.

    2. poor form in January to early Feb. This coincided with two klopp runs to SF of league cup and very busy schedules burning out players.

    3. Block 7 is historically strong. this is before CL starts back

    4. Block 9 is a big tail off. Klopp had a europa league run and CL league run in these figures.

We are well above the average thus far.

Btw block 6 is where squad depth really kicks in.

2 year's under klopp it was poor, mane out for example. Last year he managed squad better with extra options.

This year he has shaqiri and sturridge up top and fabinho and which ever player is not first choice not Keita is back.

If we get over January hump intact we will be in good place

Talk about no credit for building a team there.

I believe savage and co encourage him and get him on lots to stimulate calls and texts.

There were several like him, fake fans and they know they are fake and they let them on anyway
