Here´s some simple facts;- We ain´t premier lge. (the squad as it stands) The table doesn´t lie. NP isn´t a prem manager. NP doesn´t know his best XI. I´ll support LC no matter what lge we play in. Here are some of my opinions;- IF we go down NP will be replaced. We´ll have a real battle on to keep the better players at the club, which would fair very well in the championship, therefore becoming just another failed ex-prem team stuck in the championship. IF we stayed up we´d need to spend some serious money on prem players & not championship players. IF we do stay up & don´t do the above, we could become a team that scraps relegation season in season out for about 3 to 4 seasons & then get relegated, then lose all our best players & maybe end up like before & struggle in the championship & even maybe do a Portsmouth or a Cov.
I'm starting to think maybe there has been too much sentiment towards NP. Similar example is Adkins who took Southampton from league 1 to the prem (albeit in one spell) and their board quickly realised he ha found his level and changed when they were a point or two out of the bottom 3. Our board have shown a lot of faith towards Pearson and it's probably too late to change now as we're all but down. We might only be 3 points off safety but the games we have left, we aren't going to win enough, I'd be surprised if we get more than 25 points
We look like we're going down with Pearson. 4 wins from 24 games is p*** poor and if his answer is to bring in Nugent & Konch and leave our record signing on the bench then I think his time should be up.The squad is simply not good enough and the only chance we have is if someone new comes in and brings about a fresh impetus.
You leave a 8 million pound striker on the bench and start with a championship striker then it's obvious where you'll end up - back in the championship!
Have to agree. Ulloa was dire yesterday and to leave Krammy on the bench was scandalous imo. Also he was playing so deep picking things up in midfield. Get him in the danger areas ffs. As for Konchesky, why cannot he put a pass to his team mates. Shocking. Will be interesting to see which players we can hang onto in the Championship next season. Mahrez. No chance Kramaric No chance
.... whilst we are all very disappointed it's worth taking a step back and analysing dispassionately ... I don't understand some of Pearson's selections I'll admit .... but we are not that far away from winning games ... we SHOULD have beaten Burnley, West Brom, Stoke and Palace on the number of chances created but we are not taking them ... that coupled with some dire decision making defensively is costing us ... We need to get good service to Ulloa - he didn't have his best game yesterday but he is not getting the crosses he thrives on ... he also needs to be given the opportunity to form a partnership with the already quite impressive Kramaric ... but we also need to take some of the pressure off the strikers by ensuring that they don't feel under pressure to score because it is inevitable that we will concede (which engenders snatching at chances) ... I've been frustrated with Big Wes's performances for some time ... he has developed an alarming tendency to throw himself to ground all too easily and opposing players / managers are now aware ... he got away with one yesterday against Gayle but it has cost us many goals ... time for a change ... I do think we can win games but only if midfield / forwards have confidence in the defensive platform behind. Vardy and Nugent might still be useful from the bench ... but currently starting them is counter productive as the feeling is that better goalscorers are on the bench ... Pearson needs to change the record - Konchesky, Wes and Nuge need to be firmly placed in his back catalogue or we will soon be playing at a level far more suitable to their particular ability ...
I makes you wonder why we paid so much for him if all he´s doing is sitting on the bench of a team that´s firing blanks (so to speak) & when he comes on he´s playing deep ? Did NP look at one player & then buy another ?
Kramaric is only going to get snapped up if he starts performing and scoring goals. He hasn't done either yet. I'm not going to say he's been disappointing as he's not really been played correctly yet, from what we know of him, but I suppose it's a good thing if he either starts scoring and pulling us up the table, or sticks them in next season in the Championship. What we don't want is a situation like what occurred with many of QPR's players last season, and he decides, despite all evidence to the contrary, that he's better than us and refuses to play. From what I've seen of him so far he seems pretty level-headed, but it does worry me a bit.
