Just thought this would be an interesting read for those who want to know what's happened with some ex-Tigers - Some may have fond memories, some.. May not Ben Burgess has made a move to Tranmere for free. The good old Beast Jon Parkin has gone from Cardiff to Fleetwood. Where did his Career go wrong? David Amoo has made a move to Preston. Trevor Carson (Although he never made a City appearance) has gone to Bury. John Welsh has gone to Preston. Gary Alexander is at Brentford and made a loan move to Crawley at the end of last Season. Caleb Folan is at Birmingham (However long that will last, no idea). However short/long or successful/unsuccessful these players spells were at The Tigers, still found it interesting to see how downhill most Careers have gone. Is downhill maybe too cynical and City have just dramatically improved?
Oops, didn't know that one. So basically he signed for the Brummies, didn't play - or did he? - and then gets released. IMO League 1 is his level. Or maybe a bottom half Championship side.
I only found out last week, saw on Twitter that he was clearing out his apartment and was giving away shirts.
Dont rule out BARNSLEY or STEVENAGE for Mr Folan. As for Jon Parkin may take in a trip to Fleetwood on saturday 13th October during the WC International Break. Get another new ground done.
Always remember one of my favourite headed City goals EVER from Ben Burgess a few seasons ago when we beat Millwall at the Circle 1 - 0. A brilliant weighted effort over the keeper from the edge of the area. I cant even remember who crossed it but it was a lesson in precision heading. That Uddersfeeled keep cost football a great potential talent
Ben Burgess was brilliant for us when he wasn't injured. I hated being at Bloomfield Road when he scored a 99th minute winner against us after Folan had knocked himself out...
I was also there and when he was interviewed after the game he said i took no pleasure in scoring that goal i enjoyed my time in Hull and did not want to leave, top bloke.
When he left, he told the Media that he didn't want to leave, however the Club had apparently told him that he was surplus to requirements.
I think when I saw Jon Parkin in hogshead with a pint in one hand and a cig in the other. Thats when I knew it would all go wrong.
Burgess still comes to watch us occasionally at away games, there's still plenty of chanting of his name when people realise it's him.
about a year ago, or so, i was on a family meal evening at Lazattes. Burgess and Myhill spent the whole night in the bar so i guess were having some kind of local reunion between themselves. by the end of the night they looked s h i t faced!!!
