Sorry if this has already been done but some interesting and encouraging stats have been revealed with the derby game only a few days away. I know stats don't matter a great deal, particularly in a derby, but this should provide huge encouragement to us as fans and the players themselves. The upshot is: Defence: Cardiff have faced more shots than almost anyone else in the Division. They have less clean sheets than us; they have had more defensive blocks; they have conceded more goals. Possession: We have better passing stats; we have better possession stats; they have had just 68 shots on goal whilst we have had almost a hundred. Attack: We have scored more goals; we have had over double the shots on target and have edged them in shots off target; our shooting accuracy is better than theirs. In other words, this is a game we should be winning, though derby days tend to upset the bookies at times. Marshall may well prove to be their key player, but let's hope our lads play to their capabilities. If they do, we'll win. Well I did respond when one of their number was gratuitously abusive, but only to say he was being a bit thick. No swear words were used, and that's not half as bad as he deserved, and not nearly as bad as some others get up to. Clearly they couldn't face my 'input' this week.
