Well the common rumor at the moment seems to be Huntelaar, but that won't probably happen. Perhaps Brendan sees Borini as our potential out and out goal scorer? He has got a decent goal scoring record for his age, but for the present it's well known that we do need another striker. I'm assuming we'll have to offload some players before we go back in to the market, hopefully one of them will not be Carroll but his future remains to be seen. My unrealistic target would have to be Llorrente, but realisticly if we were to get a striker I see it being some one unkown.
Cavani is available for £44m. Sell Cole for £25m and Spearing for £25m and pay some one £6m to take Adam.
He'd be a great signing, but I just see him as one of them players we're linked to a lot but never comes off
Twitter rumours flying around that Newcastle are going to come back in with a £17 million offer for Andy Carroll, and this time its a cash offer and doesn't involve a loan. Its not enough by any means, but its a decent starting bid. Maybe we could push them to offering £17 million and Demba Ba?
Yeah I agree about his age, but we have plenty of potential in Carroll and Borini and it would be nice sign an established player like himself, would certainly show a lot of intent
I'd take 17 and scrap any ideas for Dempsey or that kind of grade ( I rate Dempsey too) Add 4 mil from Cole and Spearing and with the 21 million go after Negredo, Barrios, Soldado, etc. That calibre of striker.
Apparently Arsenal were interested in Seydou Doumbia before they got Giroud & Podolski in the region of £15mil. Plays for CSKA Moscow. Decent goal scoring record last year with 20 goals. Quick, powerful and decent enough in the air.
Then you could take adam in a deal with Fulham for Dempsey and have options in the front 4 of : Suarez, Borini, Dempsey, Negredo/Soldado/Barrios/Huntelar. Looks good enough for me.
You could say the same for Wellinton for Spartak Moscow, problems is they are absolute class in FIFA but haven't seen enough of them in real life to judge!
Just need to get a copy of Football Manager and see what players they rate - let's be honest they get more right than they do wrong! Think they have better scouts than most clubs.

We could speculate all day but we don't know how much money we have to work with. Anyone is available if you have enough... if we've only got 10mill the best answer is probably someone most of us has never heard of that has gone under the radar at a smaller club. Rather than some aging or out of favour midtable star. Not convinced Dempsey is the very best we can do.
He was really good at Euro's but maybe that put a big price tag on him? He would be a good signing if he can play as a For or any of the outsides ( as well of course as AM). I liked the look of Madzukic as well but he went to Bayern. Always been a fan of Cardozo and think he would be sick for us. NM, I only know baseball and american football, what would I know about these players....
If we sell Carroll, Cole, and Spearing we have 21 ( or around that) to get quality, Adam+ 5 for Dempsey and I think that would be good business clearing out some deadwood/players who are not going to feature for players who add more quality in our attack.
