Top 3 candidates, would be VERY happy with any of them.

Anybody else would be a disappointment (out of the names floating around at the moment).

In the order mentioned, I'd be happy. BUT - is this just the latest in the Pompey managerial saga?

Is there another episode to come yet?

According the Jordan Cross at the snooze............ da dah...... the managerial plot thickens. Rather like a "who dunnit" will this long-running soap ever end? :emoticon-0138-think

I dont know why the press jus doesn't admit that it knows nothing and stop throwing names around. CSI have been very hush-hush about the whole thing and throwing out every name of any manager or coach that could be available is not productive.

As far as we know, the link with the West Brom coach - Michael Appleton - came as a direct result of the bets placed on him at the bookies. The link with Steve Coppell came as a result of him attending the Palace game. The link with OGS came from Dubov flying out to Norway and meeting him, made more plausible because his agent refused to answer any questions.

Now that's what I call tenuous links!

It could be a Steve Coppell/Michael Appleton combo. Both have played for the Mancs. Is that tenuous enough?

Whoever it is - lets get behind him and show him what being at PFC is all about!

We have had a rough ride over the last few seasons, now CSI have stabled the ship, lets push on.

Ole for me - but would be happy with Coppell!

He is, but mentally weak when the going gets tough - remember he walked out on Man City as well as us.

Well it isn't going to be Steve Coppell, apparently.

I don't get the strong link with Appleton though - he doesn't have managerial experience yet, only as assistant. Look what happened at Bristol City when they promoted Keith Millen from assistant to manager. That really didn't work out for them. Seems a real risk to me.

You're allowed as many mistakes as you want Mike - you're not playingh in goal after all!

    Actually my guess was stabilised.

Over Twitter and especially The Snooze website, Pompey fans are becoming more and more outraged that we have not had an announcement yet.

Fans are starting to get a bit frustrated with it all, yet what everyone is forgetting is that NONE of these rumours have been revealed or denied by CSI or DL and they are just going about their business of finding the right man for the job.

At the moment, all speculation has been through the press and through the betting markets! Lets hold fire from slating someone who has not even been appointed yet and lets see what CSI and DL can do when they are not using the media as their play thing!

    PUP!

I don't understand the rush. Guy and Stuart are producing good football and decent results. Neither of which were happening when we did have a manager!

Hoping for Solskjaer- would be an immense manager- which would make Portsmouth watched all over England because of his glittering career at United.

Lampitt, CSI- give Ole the manager's post !! <ok>

    Saints fan in peace.

    OGS?
    Michael Appleton?

I would have thought you lot would need a manager with solid Championship experience to get you through this season and then kick on next year.

Having said that, I don't know many that are currently out of work.

    Oh, Peter Reid?
