    Anyone done solo holidays before?

I’ve done LA / Istanbul / Marmaris and am thinking of Dubai.

Get a lot of stick off the lads but they are either too skint or cba going so I often think **** it I’ll do what I want.

Makes holiday decisions a piece of piss like.

Yes, quite a lot. Istanbul and Cappadocia coming up in early November for 8 days. Cities make good solo destinations because there is usually loads to do and you don't stick out like a sore thumb. Photography is one of the reasons I go to certain places and I usually prefer solo travel for that. Sometimes go with mates but they don't have the most adventurous ideas about destinations so they are usually just for a bit of sun and a piss up. Have joined groups for tours in Kenya and Tanzania for safaris and also in Vietnam and they were all great tbh despite not knowing anyone at the start. Just go and do it if you want to see somewhere.

    Rome...

Was single at the time and it was class cracking on to all the hot lasses on a gap year! Also brilliant to just do whatever I wanted, and not wait for someone to get ready, get moody and ruin the day etc.

I had an enforced solo 2 days in Bratislava then Vienna a few weeks back. Lost my passport while away with the lads in Bratislava and couldn't get it to fly back on the Sunday morning so ended up having to be a bit creative with getting home. Despite the stress of sorting out temporary docs more travel delays etc I managed to enjoy being able to just hang out and do what I want for a couple of days

Me and the long term gf broke up at the of last year, so I'm looking into doing a solo holiday soon.

Turkey seems good, went to Antalya a few years ago, and maybe somewhere around there again, just wanna get something all inclusive where I can just sit on the beach and read and have beer for a week.

I spend enough time away from the Mrs working. Really value holiday time together with her and even the grown-up kids.

Best holiday by far was an adventure holiday in South America. Thought the wife would hate it but she loved it as it was so different to what we normally do.

Next up is Canada for us.

Well you could get off your Manc backside and help her instead of swanning off and leaving her.

Cyprus is great for that, and TUI normally do cracking all inclusive deals. Stick to the southern part tho and to the east of larnaca like Ayia Napa (it can be surprisingly quiet)! Love the place me, back for the 3rd time in 3 years later this year!

Best holiday I've ever had was at Fig Tree Bay ( Protaras ) back in 1987. There was bugger all there other than a beach bar. I guess it's changed a bit now, however I'd love to go back.

Done a few walking holidays. Get up early, big breakfast, afew hours slogging through the hills, boozy lunch, well deserved nap, out of an evening checking the local bars. Not for everyone but I like it.
