Solly is very likely to be my Player of the Year. It would take a huge dip in form for that opinion to change, but I cannot see it happening. He is so much better than Jenkinson, yet we got a million squid for that dodo.
I don't know if he is better than Jenkinson, who hardly played for us and often at LB, they're both excellent young players
Yeah, i dont agree that he is better than Jenkinson, certainly Jenky had a lot more options going forward than Chris - but CS is a mean RB !
I could never see what all the fuss was about Jenkinson, Solly is a grafter and does all the hard work at the back but can also get forward when he sees an opportunity.
Excellent news and I'm delighted to be proved totally wrong. I really didn't fancy Solly at first. But he's turned into a cracker. Much better than Jenkinson IMHO
Im delighted at this news, after the run in i had on the club fans site with someone called Nick Davison who kept saying he was lucky to be at a club like Charlton as not good enough....really?????......hope that he is not singing the Solly song....Oh and Nick if you are anywhere on this site,....we've got Chris Solly he's ...... quality.................
I thought it was lovely on the OS that they said about the Chris Solly song "or words to that effect"... It reminds me of Jose Semedo when he said "they have a nice song for me".
Very harsh on Jenkinson, doubt there's much between them at the moment. Jenkinson is a good player and like Solly would have looked better in this team. Had Jenkinskn stayed he'd probably have started as first choice and done very well himself. The ones that didn't rate Solly last summer would be saying we'll need better cover than him if we go up!
I liked Jenkinson also,thought he looked different type of player to CS.cultured is the word i would use,seemed to have time on the ball and i would have put money on him as a future captain.Chris Solly is never say die and a complete grafter that seems to have a fantastic attitude.Well done Chris Solly!!!!......but i am a woman and what do i know??????.......
How to multi-task... Agree with what you say about Jenkinson - apart from one shocking game (the one where he was sent off) I thought he coped remarkably well with being shoved in at the deep end at Arsenal. OK, he's not the finished product by any means, but IMO he's going to be very, very, good.
