I was reading the Sport section in the Guardian this morning, and Sol Campbell was talking about how he is looking for a club: Do you think he would be a good addition to the squad? I think we need somebody with experience at the back, and there are few free agents with that much experience. Whether he would be the right person, i'm not sure.
No better than we've already got, he's a has been, great in his day but not now, he'd be another OLD man signing like Adebola & McKenna
We don't need to sort out the defence, we need to sort out the scoring goals department. The key is getting that first goal, we proved many times last season we know how to defend leads. If we'd have scored the first goal against Blackpool, Leeds and Palace we'd have won all of them games and be sitting top with Southampton and Derby. The fact we had chances in the Blackpool and Palace games to go ahead but we just didn't take them. Even against Leeds we had a bunch of shots and corners but couldn't score. Our defence is just exposed from lack of experience all over the pitch when we need to chase a game. Defending is about the whole team, not just the 4 players at the back and the goalkeeper.
I think we should stick with what we,ve got at the back, unless we could get him cheap say on a pay as you play basis or something similar
The defence is not the problem, apart from goalkeeper. We need strikers to put the ball in the back of the net.
They say the first yard is in the head but Sol has been playing so long I would worry about the second yard. I am sure there are better players out there than him.
