Sol Campbell says the FA turned down his offer to be involved with the England set-up

No go: Sol Campbell's offer was rejected by the FA
Sol Campbell has revealed the FA rejected his plea to be involved in the England set-up two years ago, despite the lack of black coaches at St George’s Park.

His claim coincides with the admission of FA chairman Greg Dyke that the body running football in this country is “overwhelmingly white”.

Noel Blake, one of the only black coaches within the FA set-up, departed last month. Concerns remain that a generation of young black players coming through are being mentored by coaches that they unable to identify with.

Campbell retired two years ago with 73 caps and the experience of six major tournaments to his name.

He was left frustrated, however, when talks to offer the FA his services came to nothing.

Campbell, now doing his coaching badges with the Welsh FA, said: “I played with Gary Neville a lot. I went to England, two and a half years ago, cap in hand and said, ‘I want to work within the England set-up.’

"We had a couple of meetings with [Club England managing Director] Adrian Bevington - secret meetings. Back in London, four months later, Gary Neville gets the job.

“How has he got the job? What has he done other than have a fantastic career. What has he done coaching wise? He was given that job without experience.

“So why can’t someone like me have a job without experience in there? What’s the difference?

“Roy Keane is a fantastic, inspirational player. He has been controversial, yes. But he gets a job. And that’s fine because because he did superbly to get Sunderland into the Premier League. He was a fantastic player.

“But if he was black and he was like that, I’m telling you now I don’t think he would have got a job.”

Why the **** would he bring us into that

Why the **** has the club not started proceedings to sue him for slander

The crucial sentence there is he is now doing his coaching badge which is a prerequisite for any professional club, add to that he is doing it via Welsh FA may give us some of hint of his ability levels.

    I'll make a statement.
Sol Campbell is a racist ****er.
He's a blackie that hates whities, so if it was the other way around I'd guess he'd be in prison now.

Seems like Campbell, who wants to be taken seriously in the future as a Black coach is stepping on an awful lot of toes. I can't wait for the day he is photo'd along with the down and outs in central London.

I can't understand it, if there was black people who were good enough they would be managing. Paul Ince, Chris Hughton for example. They were sacked because of results not their colour.

I couldn't care less on skin colour as long as results produced, these didn't produce so that was that.

Bill Bradshaw, on SSN, has just invited this black liar to get his facts straight about the 'racism by Sunderland supporters' in 1993.

He correctly said there was no match that year and the only one anywhere near was televised live ...... nothing was either heard or reported.

    Over to you Mr Campbell.

Problem is that the other side of the race argument produces equally bigoted views from the black community. They are defended on the whole by the race lobby and political correctness. I shared a house with a black guy in London, lovely bloke but with a huge chip on his shoulders. Racism is a double edged sword and using the card to defend weaknesses by claiming racism should be made a criminal offense.

How they get away with the MOBO awards is beyond me and the Black Police federation.

Teachers & Coaches must inspire their pupils first and foremost.

Gary Neville, I believe, would do this as a coach.

Sol Campbell is a boring, miserable git who no-one would take any notice of.

His skin colour is irrelevant to the job but his attitude and aptitude are and he fails on both counts. Knob!

You can have a black Society of anything you want including lawyers & chief police officers but you can't have a white one.
    Otherwise it's deemed as racist.
There are plenty of companies in this country who would employ a person purely on skin colour, not the ability to do the job.

Anybody involved with HR on here?
Thickest set of twats ever, pig ignorant arseholes.
No wonder British manufacturing is ****ed.

I want to start a campaign for the "association of white footballers lawyers" who would only support white footballers - but we all know how that would be racist. Aren't the association of black lawyers basically the black equivalent to BNP belief?

If this continues there'll be an e-petition started to ask Campbell to meet the people he's accusing.

I was at the match he 'almost refers to', even though it was never played if you know what I mean, and he's incorrect.

I know from experience that if a lie is repeated enough times it becomes a fact ....... like Poyet ****ting in Delia Smith's handbag.

If you're going to make racism accusations you need to get your facts right, this idiot can't even get the year right <doh>
